Volker Meitz

Berlin based pianist / keyboarder Volker Meitz is involved in several projects from Jazz to experimental or popular music. Due to his eclectic approach, Volker has always been hard to pigeon-hole to any one specific genre - but he actually likes it that way. Having started out composing chiptunes in the 8-bit computer scene, he went on to produce electronic club music incorporating jazz musicians in the 1990's, played in one of the first drum'n'bass live bands in Europe, was musical director of Sonar Kollektiv Orchester and recorded freely improvised, yet heavily processed music with Projekt Schwedt.
Today, his projects include SpaceKrautDubJazz band THE SHREDZ (w/ Eric Schaefer, John Dennis Renken, John Eckhardt), Free Imrov quartet KEMD (w/ Silke Eberhard, Almut Kühne, Yorgos Dimitriadis), SouljazzFusionStep combo GRAND COULOIR as well as duo and solo programs

Mia Borders is a renowned singer-songwriter who has captivated audiences with her soulful voice, electrifying performances, and diverse musical style. Her talent and raw energy quickly caught the attention of music enthusiasts and fellow musicians, propelling her towards a professional career. Borders’ live performances are nothing short of electrifying, infusing her soulful vocals with a contagious energy that leaves audiences spellbound.

Mr GONE

Mr. GONE is a 4 piece ensemble exploring the groove based music of early electric jazz

(fusion), focusing on the groundbreaking music of Weather Report and Herbie

Hancock’s Headhunters & Mwandishi bands, as well as original compositions.

Referencing the origins of the jam band movement, they connect the past with the future,

opening a window on the historical significance and influence of this music. Mr Gone is

the brainchild of Peter Furlan (saxes, Dizzy Gillespie, 10,000 Maniacs, Frank Foster)

• Studied at the music academies in Trossingen, Nuremberg and Stuttgart in the subjects of school music, jazz and composition/arrangement with piano as his main subject under Paul Schwarz, Bernd Hufnagel, Frank Sikora, Klaus König and Prof. Martin Schrack, among others.
