Dom Palombi
Dom Palombi, Professional Drummer, Composer/Arranger, Educator, and Streamer, has been thriving on the musical journey for 20+ years. After finishing a Bachelor's Degree of Jazz Performance at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University - New Brunswick, NJ (2012-2016), Dom has been fortunate to perform, educate, and explore a multitude of opportunities as a full-time freelance musician. During his time at Rutgers, Dom studied with legendary jazz drummers Victor Lewis and Robby Ameen. Since graduating, Dom is an active Dance Accompanist for the Mason Gross Dance Department (2017-Current). He’s also accompanied dance classes for Drew University. Dom currently has 3 albums to his name: An All-Original Jazz-Fusion record “As The Sun Rises” (Oct 2017) which documents his early beginnings as a band leader and composer, “Game Night! Vol. 1” (Oct 2021) and “Game Night! Vol.2” (Jan 2024) which are current Funk-Fusion focused reflections of his inspirations/passions/hobbies/loves from being involved in the Video Game Music Scene online and in-person over the last 7 years, starting back in 2017. Dom’s mission with his “Game Night!” Band/Albums are celebrating the essence of comradery, bringing friends together to make memories, and creating special moments through things people are passionate about. Both albums feature some of the most prominent names/figures in the Video Game Music Scene today.
In August 2023, Modern Drummer Magazine talked about Dom’s “Game Night! Vol. 1” mentioning “this music is interesting, it is often very melodic, filled with melodic counterpoint, and very rhythmic. Palombi and his band do the music a real service by treating it with respect and making it an enjoyable addition to modern repertoire. The concept is cool, the playing and arranging is creative, and Dom’s drumming is top notch.”
Some people/groups Dom has performed/recorded/worked with include: Carlos Eiene aka. Insaneintherainmusic, Dave Pollack, Ryan Devlin, Patrick Bartley (Band Leader of the J-Music Ensemble), Super Soul Bros, Jer Hunter aka.
