In his entire career as an improvisational flutist Steig has challenged the boundaries of conventional categories in music. In his first album Flute Fever (Columbia Records 1963) Steig established himself as one of the most important voices in contemporary music, setting new standards in the performance and appreciation of the flute as improvisational instrument. Steig's openness to all kinds of music is the key that attracts audience to his music. In his newest CD, Steig teams up as a duo with the prominent guitarist and composer, Vic Juris. Rowland Sutherland '...improviser of real character'. John Fordham - THE GUARDIAN Flautist, Rowland Sutherland enjoys an international career in many different fields of music. He regularly performs in Jazz groups as well as with various non-Western groups, new music ensembles, symphony orchestras, pop outfits and as a soloist. He has composed and arranged music for groups, ensembles and for the BBC. Composition commissions include those written for the percussion quartet "Ensemble Bash", the contemporary music group "New Music Players" and Lontano and the Fidelio Trio. Rowland studied flute at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama mainly with Kathryn Lukas and studied jazz with the late Lionel Grigson in the mid 1980s. Jan Leder

A born-and-raised New Yorker, Jan Leder decided to pursue her love for improvisation after twelve years of studying classical music. She studied for three years with the late pianist Lennie Tristano and then continued her jazz studies with pianist Connie Crothers for over ten years. A self-styled course of study in jazz history at SUNY Purchase led to her compilation of the first comprehensive history of women in jazz entitled Women in Jazz: A Discography of Instrumentalists 1913-1968 (Greenwood Press 1985). Ms. Leder has enjoyed teaching jazz improvisation, although teaching has not figured prominently in her career. In 1999 Jan recorded Nonchalant (A-Records 2000), a collection of mostly original melodies

Jose Luis Oliveira a Rio de Janeiro born artist that goes by Ze Luis is a multi instrumentalist, composer and producer that have credits in more than 260 albums. In his homeland during the eighties he was a member of the band of Caetano Veloso for seven years and scored with Gilberto Gil the movie "A Subway to the Stars" directed by Carlos Diegues, one of the most prestigious directors from Brazil. In a more recent event, he released his first album titled Guarani Banana (Malandro Records/Trama), which was acclaimed, by critics and reviewers through out USA including Saxophone Journal, Down Beat (Players), and Rhythm among others. Fresh out of the musical direction for Bebel Gilberto Ze went back to school in order to study classical composition with Stanley Wolfe at Juilliard where he was an A student.
