Masaki Hanawa

Centering his practice on the alto saxophone with a distinctive tone that emphasizes air-inflected noise, Masaki Hanawa explores an expressive realm that moves fluidly between silence, sound, and music, creating works and performances that merge seamlessly with time and space.

His creative approach extends beyond music into painting, photography, and other visual media, cultivating a multidisciplinary practice that transcends conventional boundaries.

In 2023, he made his major debut with the release of his first album "Silence" on CADENZA (by T-Toc Records).
Recent highlights include his solo exhibition of acrylic "Paintings for Café" and the accompanying sound installation "Music for Café".
As part of his Alto Saxophone Solo Exhibition series, he has presented concept-based performances such as "Progrades and retrogrades based on the present moment", "Noise of the Alto Saxophone and the Sound of Space", and "Boundaries in Perception".

You, Me, + the Whales

You, Me, + the Whales Sextet is an experimental jazz group that brings together American primitive guitar textures with spiritual jazz, open improvisations, field recordings, microtonal drones, and a lot of bells. YM+TW has performed at REDCAT, 2220 Arts + Archives, Gold-Diggers, Venice Speakeasy, Permanent Records Roadhouse, and an abandoned water tank. 

Co-led by brothers Zac Burgenbauch (guitar) and Devin Burgenbauch (bass), YM+TW Sextet features David Otis (saxophones), Elif Dinçer (harp/electronics), M A Harms (vibraphone/percussion), and Lucas Lenny (drumset). 

Herve Perez

Hervé Perez is a sound artist/composer from the north of England... plays the saxophones, shakuhachi and laptop in several groups ranging from free-jazz, electro-acoustic improvisation and contemporary jazz.

Sounding out, one of his current projects, is an exploration of architecture, outdoor acoustics and sacred sites - investigating the nature of space and natural topography - through the practice of deep listening. These recordings are documents of in situ improvisations, inspired by the spirit and the special characteristics of a location.
