Julia Perminova

Born:
Julia Perminova is a jazz pianist and composer from Russia. She graduated from Moscow Gnessin Academy of Music with honours and won several international competitions in Russia, Romania, Spain and Portugal. From 2018 she studied in Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris as part of the EUJam masters program. Since moving to Europe, Julia performed her original music in famous jazz venues of Europe such as Sunside Sunset (Paris), Bimhuis (Amsterdam) and Zigzag (Berlin) and worked as a sidewomen with musicians such as Ronnie Cuber, Lionel Loueke, Peter Weniger and others. Julia released three albums: “Revival” (2018), “Imagination”(2021) and “Way To My Star” (2022)

With her warm and virtuous playing she easily conquers the audience. As a soloist she has performed with the Metropole Orchestra, The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, the Orchestra Jazz Siciliana, Tony Scherr, Han Bennink, Jesse van Ruller, Candy Dulfer, and Al Jarreau. Listed as “Rising Star Alto Saxophone” in Downbeat Magazine for the past 11 consecutive years, Sharel has appeared on the Today Show, earned her MA from The Juilliard School under full scholarship, won the 2007 ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award & has been inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. Kendrah Butler

Kendrah E. Butler has lived and breathed music ever since she could remember. She studied at Settlement Music School in Germantown, PA for 11 years with classical world renowned pianist Charles Pettaway. Kendrah studied jazz piano at the Mount Airy Cultural Center under the direction of saxophonist Anthony “Tony” Williams. At Mount Airy, she would intensely study jazz piano with greats such as Don Wilson, Kenny Gates, and for 5 years with the late great jazz pianist Eddie Green through a Roam and Haas Scholarship at Settlement Music School. Through her experiences in classical and jazz, Kendrah would premier on TV’s CN8 with the group, “The Best Yet Jazz Quintet”, cut a demo CD with Gamble and Huff records, perform around the tri-state area, and work with the late Grover Washington all before the age of 17
