Famous Accordion Orchestra

The Famous Accordion Orchestra is an accordion quartet (and sometimes a larger group). Led by composer/accordionist Bob Goldberg, the group bridges styles from traditional to modern, and is suited a wide range of performing venues. The orchestra's repertoire ranges from 19th-Century composers such as Stephen Foster, Louis-Moreau Gottschalk.and Jacques Offenbach, to 20th Century music by Leonard Bernstein, Paolo Conte and Kraftwerk, as well as originals that range from environmental pieces (that use the space in non-traditional ways), waltzes, marches and tangoes. The Famous Accordion Orchestra grew out of a series of collaborations using multiple accordions, including the popular "Angels and Accordions" at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn (five years running!), as well as site-specific performances at the Brooklyn Museum; and marching band performances at the River to River Festival (2005) and Art Parade (2007)
