Saxophonist, and composer Eric Schugren lives in New York City where he moved
from Los Angeles in 2008. He has played and recorded with a host of jazz
luminaries young and old including the late Billy Higgins, Harold Land, Teddy
Charles, and the thriving Willie Jones lll, Richard Grant, Danny Grissett, and Bob
Hurst, to name a few . He has written sound tracks for the films of artist Bob
Branaman which are in the Museum of Modern Art's Beat Generation archive.
Additionally, Eric is in his 7th year as the woodwind clinician at the International
Summer Jazz Academy in Krakow, Poland.
Originally from Berkeley California, he has a degree in Ethnomusicology from
UCLA, and has traveled Europe and China as an ambassador of Jazz
