Enzo Torregrossa aka ZONE

Enzo Torregrossa started jazz and classical studies at the same time. He took inspiration from John Coltrane, Charlie Mingus and mainly from Miles Davis who is still his artistic father and point of reference in his expressive and compositive work. He attended Master Bruno Tommaso’s “Siena Jazz” seminaries from 1980 to 1983. In 1982 he obtained the “Diploma di Laurea in contrabbasso” (“Degree in contrabass”) with Master Sebastiano Nicotra at the Academy of Music “Vincenzo Bellini” in Catania and attended the course of “Orchestra Composition and Art direction” in Bologna. Meanwhile he broadened his knowledge of his music studies by means of “Dik Groove” and “Barkley School”’s textbooks

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
