Born: January 18, 1973

João Ricardo was born in Porto, Portugal. His musical path started at the age of 6 with piano studies. Years later he dedicated himself to the electric bass and guitar, as well as to the exploration of magnetic tape and software trackers. The passage through several rock/metal bands and some incursions in experimental music led to the present ocp (operador de cabine polivalente) project. In the advent of the new millenium, he dropped out of Law School and headed to London to study live audio. Back home, he created his own PA company, worked in a Casino as sound technician and did free lance audio engineering. Presently, he dedicates himself to performing live - both on his own and with fellow improvisers - and to composition/production/experimentation for multimedia; forms Pygar (an A/V duo) and participates in two other musical projects: Boiar and F.R.I.C.S

Christian Grimshei

I worked as DJ Applepie in Europe in the 1990's. I released 5 albums with different projects. The most known is Acid Queen on the highly respected KKV (Kirkelig Kulturverksted) label. In 2011 I created the label Rabiang Records, and Peter's Sunrise is the first album. Its a mix of world music, jazz and orchestral.

Joel Grant Taylor

Born: August 10, 1951

Joel Grant Taylor has been active as a composer/multi-instrumentalist in the experimental and free music scenes since 1975, in San Francisco, Portland, OR, and New York. He is a founding member of the Future Primitive Ensemble of San Francisco, a seminal new music ensemble of the mid-70s and early 80s. Since that time he has played in a variety of groups, including the Hawley Currens Ensemble (mid 80s in the Bay Area), and Nyquist (late 90s in New York). Joel plays using analog synthesizers and laptop, and the piano, and also plays the shakuhachi, a Japanese end-blown flute, and the suling, an Indonesian fipple flute

Susanna Borsch

Susanna Borsch was born in Hamburg, Germany, and studied recorder with Walter van Hauwe at the Amsterdam Conservatory where she completed her teaching and solo (masters) diplomas. Her final solo concert examination in the year 2000 featured several new works composed especially for her and the combination of recorder with live electronics. Her collaboration with composers on a new solo repertoire resulted in her first solo CD "off-limits" which received critical acclaim from all quarters when issued in 2006. A recorder virtuoso familiar with both contemporary and early music, Susanna Borsch is one of the few instrumentalists able to bridge both styles of music with complete ease

1.Describe your discovery of Music. "I’m 51. When you say discovery of music, I am assuming that you mean what we affectionally call “the music”. While still strongly into a jazz-fusion bag musically during my teens (Brand X, Return To Forever, Passport, Gong, etc.,), I sifted through my father’s record collection and came across a John Coltane LP entitled ‘Last Train’, a late 50’s Prestige release. William C Harrington

Born: January 10, 1952

William C. Harrington was born in Yonkers, New York. His grandmother played piano at silent movie theaters: by the time he was a sophomore in high school, he was working as a professional musician playing parties, roller-skating rinks, and more. While at CSU Dominguez Hills he studied composition, performance, electronic music, and prepared piano techniques with Richard B. Evans, author of the classic book on John Cage, “The Well Prepared Piano.” He was also influenced by seminars with several composers including Nicholas Slominsky. Tim Gerwing

Born: November 20, 1971

Tim Gerwing was born in Canada, but experienced his childhood in Germany. Early lessons in classical piano gave way to experimentation with jazz, electronic, new age, progressive rock/pop, and Middle and Far Eastern musics. The purchase of his first synthesizer and electric guitar in the late 80's were turning points and very much shaped what was to become his signature sound. Summer of 2002 saw the release of Gerwing's first solo album, "B2B". The album received international radio airplay in Canada, Japan, Holland, Australia, Poland, Russia, and the USA. Music from BTB was recently featured on the Genie Award winning "Suzuki Speaks". Gerwing's 2nd major release, "The Butterfly Effect", is now available and receiving critical acclaim in Canada, Europe, Siberia, and Asia.
