Shaun Blezard

Born: May 22, 1968

Shaun Blezard is a composer and improviser working with digital technology. Currently his interest lies in smart technology and his playing is based around an iPhone and iPad. Touch screen technology, accelerometers and wireless technology are opening up so many avenues of exploration in music and it is becoming much more like playing a traditional instrument.

Shaun has been working with digital/electronic music for 20 years, starting with basic samplers in the 90’s, through various versions of laptop set ups, fx boards and current smart technology. Starting in the world of ambient dance, he has evolved into a skilled electronic musician, playing a range of styles from sound art installations to full on free improv, pushing for new ways of expression working with new technologies and how they integrate with traditional instrumentation.

Fierbinteanu

Fierbinteanu is an experimental music duo, active in Bucharest/Romania. The group consists of Gabriela Fierbinteanu (vocals) and Cristian Fierbinteanu (computer, bass, vocals). Their music contains elements of pop, electronica, psychedelic, noise, ambient and sound collage. In 2012 they won the Antonin Dvorak's music remix contest, organized by the Czech Centre in Bucharest. In concerts, they combine live performance with the manipulation of analog and digital sound. They released in May 2013 an album (Silence As Beauty) via Local Records (independent Romanian label) and a double disc in 2012 (The Beauty Of Music), which includes some of their earlier material along with contributions from Claudiu Ilariean (romanian independent musician)

Tim Olive

Tim Olive has been writing about himself in the third person since the beginning of this century, when he left his minimal-prog-noise-rock band Nimrod, rejecting periodic rhythms and tempered pitch in favor of improvisation and open forms, exploring the full sonic possibilities of steel strings, magnetic pickups and simple analog electronics. Extensive live action in North America, Asia, Europe and Australia has provided opportunities to play with a wide range of musicians in event-specific one-off contexts, as well as ongoing live and/or recording collaborations with Katsura Mouri (ex-Busratch), Alfredo Costa Monteiro, Kelly Churko, Takuji Naka (ex- Culpis), Jeffrey Allport, Francisco Meirino, Yukinori Kikuchi, Kazuya Ishigami, Cal Lyall and others

Kottarashky

Kottarashky is a 21st century digital master musician with his hands sunk deep in the past - vintage Balkan field recordings, classic jazz and blues, psychedelic sounds, club beats and extraordinary, archetypal Gypsy voices, guttural shouts and lyrical laments are all molded and thrown into new shapes. The songs of his debut album "Opa Hey!" sound like tales told by a people who have all the time in the world: time to contemplate, enjoy, engage and dream; to take pleasure in unexpected twists and turns; to be inspired by the details and vividness of marginal existence. Kottarashky is an architect by vocation, which perhaps explains the palpable sense of place in his music

Per Boysen

Born: November 15, 1955

Swedish multi instrumentalist and “electronician” Per Boysen is a crossover crusader that loves music, but not genres. Enthusiastic listeners have hinted at “EAM”, “Nu-Jazz”, “Psychedelic” or “Minimal” while some refer to “Sound Art”. On stage Per plays interactive electronics driven by an acoustic/mechanic/electric instrument. The palette spans the Alto Traverse Flute, the Tenor Sax, the Fretless Guitar, the Chapman Stick, Stick Guitar or the EWI (Electric Wind Instrument). Everything interconnected as a self designed meta instrument. Per Boysen has performed many live-looping shows around Europe and the US, both as a solo performer and with ensembles

João Ricardo was born in Porto, Portugal. His musical path started at the age of 6 with piano studies. Years later he dedicated himself to the electric bass and guitar, as well as to the exploration of magnetic tape and software trackers. The passage through several rock/metal bands and some incursions in experimental music led to the present ocp (operador de cabine polivalente) project. In the advent of the new millenium, he dropped out of Law School and headed to London to study live audio. Back home, he created his own PA company, worked in a Casino as sound technician and did free lance audio engineering. Presently, he dedicates himself to performing live - both on his own and with fellow improvisers - and to composition/production/experimentation for multimedia; forms Pygar (an A/V duo) and participates in two other musical projects: Boiar and F.R.I.C.S

Christian Grimshei

I worked as DJ Applepie in Europe in the 1990's. I released 5 albums with different projects. The most known is Acid Queen on the highly respected KKV (Kirkelig Kulturverksted) label. In 2011 I created the label Rabiang Records, and Peter's Sunrise is the first album. Its a mix of world music, jazz and orchestral.
