Shawn Myers specializes in improvisational music using the drum set and percussion. Growing up in a small town in California with no particular music scene to grasp onto, Shawn developed his own unique perspective by listening to many styles of music and studying their roots. Through composing, arranging and scoring, Shawn developed his own methods of hearing and experiencing music. While growing up in Los Osos, Shawn studied with local drummer/professor Darrell Voss. Born and raised in Plymouth Meeting, a suburb of Philadelphia, Nick began playing drums at the age of nine through his schools music program. With a sincere passion for playing music, his parents decided to sign him up for private lessons at the age of eleven with local musician Patrick O’Shea.

As Nick’s musical experience progressed, he performed in all the ensembles in school ranging from concert band to jazz band. Finally at the age of fifteen, Nick began studying with his future mentor, clinician/educator Marc Dicciani. From there, Nick attended the University of the Arts where he studied with Jimmy Paxson SR, Marc Dicciani and Erik Johnson.
