At the age when many drummers started banging on pots and pans, I was pounding out "chromatic reharmonizations" of my favorite nursery rhymes on a piano. My parents didn't quite understand the raw emotion that was spewing out of my awkwardly large four-year-old hands, so they enrolled me in piano lessons. Two decades and a few dozen instruments later, I found myself performing with some top-notch musicians, including: David Ivory (Patti Labelle, The Roots) Julie Slick (Adrian Belew) Chuck Treece (Billy Joel, Sting) Sharon Little (CBS Records) Andrew D'Angelo (Kurt Rosenwinkel) Gerald Veasley (Grover Washington, Jr) ...and many more. Shawn Myers specializes in improvisational music using the drum set and percussion. Growing up in a small town in California with no particular music scene to grasp onto, Shawn developed his own unique perspective by listening to many styles of music and studying their roots. Through composing, arranging and scoring, Shawn developed his own methods of hearing and experiencing music. While growing up in Los Osos, Shawn studied with local drummer/professor Darrell Voss. Born and raised in Plymouth Meeting, a suburb of Philadelphia, Nick began playing drums at the age of nine through his schools music program. With a sincere passion for playing music, his parents decided to sign him up for private lessons at the age of eleven with local musician Patrick O’Shea.

As Nick’s musical experience progressed, he performed in all the ensembles in school ranging from concert band to jazz band. Finally at the age of fifteen, Nick began studying with his future mentor, clinician/educator Marc Dicciani. From there, Nick attended the University of the Arts where he studied with Jimmy Paxson SR, Marc Dicciani and Erik Johnson.
