This Norwegian trio is one of those rare and lucky collaborations where there is a great sense of chemistry from the very beginning. Are L Kolbeinsen and Ulrik I Thorsrud met for an informal improv session and hit it off immediately, but thought their music would benefit from adding a more melodic element. The choice fell on trumpeter Stian Omenås who, with his lyrical and open minded approach to improvisation, proved to be just what was needed to complete the music. Rather than adhering to any particular "school" of improvising, Parallax' music is a blend of the members' musical preferences and influences with strong emphasis on interplay and listening

Jack Gold-Molina

As well as being a photojournalist, I am also a drummer and percussionist. I have a performance history dating back to about 1980 when I was performing with blues/rock group The Opening and avant-rock group Quantum. I have also studied African music and performed with African music groups and folk music groups as well as with hard rock groups Power Source and Axcraft. Currently I am the producer and bandleader of free improvised jazz group the Acoustic Reign Project. The self-titled debut cd, engineered by Heart's Roger Fisher who performs on guitar, was released in February 2003. The musicians on this album also include trumpeter Jim Knodle, saxophonist Brian Kent, and acoustic bassist Reuben Radding

Matthew Jacobson

Born on the 11th August 1986 in Ireland, Matthew Jacobson is a drummer, composer, bandleader, educator and producer currently based in Dublin. He completed his BA in Jazz Performance at Newpark Music Centre, Dublin in 2008 and in 2010 he received a Masters Degree in Music Performance from Lucerne University, Switzerland. He has represented his country, touring with the European Jazz Orchestra in 2008 and also performs regularly in Ireland and abroad. He is also a co-director of Diatribe Records, Ireland's leading record label for new sounds and the Irish co-producer of European exchange tour network and annual festival Match&Fuse

Hugo Alcazar

Born: May 23, 1971

Hugo Alcazar Drummer, percussionist, composer, educator, Vic Firth artist and "Best Latin Jazz Drum Kit" 2008 and 2009 by Latin Jazz Corner (USA). His beginnings Hugo Alcazar was born in Lima - Peru (may 23, 1971) and started playing drums at the age of seven. By his nineteen years he had already begun playing professionally. He attained a degree in percussion faculty from the National Conservatory of Music in Lima. He studied Peruvian Cajón with the best "cajoneadores" (Cajón players) such as Juan "Cotito" Medrano, Leonardo "Gigio" Parodi and Freddy "Huevito" Lobatón and Batá Drums with the recognized Cuban percussionist and educator Roberto Borrell. Main Projects Performed with such jazz greats as Maria Schneider Orchestra, Ingrid Jensen, Russell Ferrante, Pedro Aznar, Katchie Cartwright, Bill Watrous, Bobby Shew, Arthur Lipner, Billy Kerr, Jeff Gardner, Mark Levine, Michele Weir, Seattle Women's Jazz Orchestra and the Jazz Peru Project Band with Ndugu Chancler, Kenny Werner, Lenny Pickett, Geoffrey Keezer - ÁUREA Project ,Duet drumset solo 's in Perú with famous drummers as Walfredo Reyes Jr, Sony Emory and Akira Jimbo. Many concerts with Eva Ayllón, Cesar Peredo y Los de Adentro, Mixtura Jazz A Capella, Richie Zellon, Pilar de La Hoz and others. Extensive touring with Gabriel Alegria's Afro-Peruvian Jazz Sextet in the United States , Canada and Peru spreading the Afro-Peruvian Rhythms and the fusion with the jazz. Representations Currently, Hugo Alcázar represents Vic Firth (sticks products), Music Market - Yamaha Drums (Beech Custom Absolute), Cymbals Pork (cymbals), and A Tempo (Cajón and Peruvian percussion instruments). Merits In 2003 the guild Radio and Television journalists of Peru granted him the Medal of Institucional Honor and Diploma to the Merit, in recognition to his outstanding performance and career, as well as for his contribution to the development and progress of Peru.

Tom Fallat

Tom Fallat has created, directed and performed in numerous full length evening performances including Five Dances, Summer of Barking, Danses Sacree et Profane, and Gita Govinda. He performed regularly and toured nationally with Gamelan Pacifica, a Javanese style orchestra, for eight years. He has written music for various performing groups including Gamelan Pacifica, The New Performance Group, Alpha Tango, the Salieri String Quartet, Wunkyard Flower and the New World Apes. He has been writing music specifically for dance performances for about twenty-five years, and has written scores for films and commercials

Christopher A. Copland

My name is Chris Copland, from Seattle, WA. I have studied with David Jette, David F. Gibson, Amir Ziv, and Byron Vannoy. I'm currently a student at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. I'm available for gigging, session work, and private lessons, in Seattle for summer, and in New York during the school year.

Lasse Ehn

Born: August 22, 1982

Lasse Ehn is a swedish drummer based in Copenhagen Denmark. Born in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to Copenhagen in 2005 to study at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory where he became a student of legend drummer Ed Thigpen.

Bob Barboza is an educator, journalist, visual jazz composer and founder of Kids Talk Radio, Super School Teen TV, Super School Press and Youth World News. He wrote the Visual Jazz Opera called Cabo Verde Dreams.
