Zach Malian

Drummer, Zach Malian (b. 2002) is an emerging young musician on the New York City jazz scene today. Growing up in Providence, Rhode Island, Zach was immersed in the rich musical culture of the Boston and New York areas from a young age, sparking his passion for jazz. 

As a recent graduate of SUNY Purchase College, Zach had the privilege of learning from world-renowned musicians including Kenny Washington, Joe Farnsworth, Matt Wilson, and Jon Faddis, among many others. Zach was selected to participate in the esteemed 2023 Ravinia Jazz Grandstand program in Highland Park, IL. At Ravinia, Zach had the opportunity to work with legends Rufus Reid, Steve Wilson, and Billy Childs to debut his original composition, “Roadwork”.

Dom Um Romao

Dom Um Romao - percussion (1925 - 2005)

A legendary name in bossa nova, and one of the premier drummers who introduced Brazilian percussion and rhythms into jazz, Dom Um Romão began his career playing drums at balls and cabarets in Rio De Janeiro at the end of the 1940s. He also worked at Rádio Tupi supporting singers and formed, in the late 1950s, the group Copa Trio, playing at Beco das Garrafas in Copacabana.

In 1958 Romão and another great drummer, Juquinha, participated in the recording of the record "Canção do Amor Demais" by Elizeth Cardoso, with musics by Tom Jobim and guitar by João Gilberto - the album is considered a landmark in bossa nova. In the 1960s Dom Um Romao joined Sergio Mendes' jazz ensemble. His first album, Dom Um, came out in 1964. The next year he moved to the United States and continued to work with Sergio Mendes. He became more globally known in 1971, when he replaced Airto Moreira in the legendary fusion band Weather Report.

After graduating from famous French drum school Agostini and awarded with the First Prize in 2010, Lanau has continued to study in many prestigious European schools such as the Paris Conservatory (France), the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest (Hungary), and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Belgium), learning from great masters such as Emil Spanyi, Joe Quitzke, Daniel Humair, Louis Sclavis, Kristóf Bacsó, Akos Benkó, Stephane Galland, and Lionel Beuvens. He's also had the opportunity to work with many musicians and composers from around the world, including Manolo Cabras (Belgium), Grzegorz Marciniak (Poland), Tom Aldrich, and Kurt Rosenwinkel (USA).

Sofia Goodman

Sofia Goodman is a drummer and composer residing in Nashville, TN. Before enrolling at Berklee College of music for her Bachelor's, Sofia was fortunate to learn and perform with Esperanza Spalding in a Berklee summer program jazz ensemble. Esperanza's encouragement inspired Sofia to perfect her craft. After graduating Berklee in 2011 (Drum Set Performance), Sofia moved to Nashville in 2012. In Nashville, Sofia's resume grew and she worked as a freelance musician and teacher. Tony Rounce of Ace Records said this about her playing at the Poretta Soul Festival:"There isn't enough time to do full justice to the qualities of every member of Heart & Soul, but it would be wrong not the spotlight the unit's brilliant drummer Sofia Goodman, whose drive and precision across 5-6 hours behind her kit each night put her in a class with any of the world's great soul drummers, from Al Jackson Jr., Howard Grimers and Roger Hawkins to Benny Benjamin, James Gadson and beyond." She also performed at Bonnaroo with New Age group HuDost and recorded on a song of theirs with Jon Anderson from Yes.

Dominic Egli

Dominic Egli, drums, www.dominicegli.ch

Born in 1976, Dominic Egli started drumming in the brass band tradition befor studying with bassplayer Peter Frei, at the Swiss Jazz School with Billy Brooks, at the Drummer’s Collective in NYC, and with traditional drummers in Ghana. Touring and recording (over 60 albums) mostly as a sideman in cutting-edge jazzgroups (Mats-Up, Reto Suhner 4tet…) he also collaborated with many South African musicians and leads his own quintet PLURISM featuring trumpet player Feya Faku.

Greg Fundis

Greg Fundis is an American drummer based in Chicago IL with a career in music performance, recording and education spanning over three decades.  Fundis’ jazz group, the Greg Fundis Quintet appeared at the 2025 Chicago Jazz Festival. Most recently, Greg Fundis placed in the top 20 out of 10,000 drummers in a worldwide drumming competition receiving an honorable mention from Grammy-nominated band Primus.  He is a founding member of 56 Hope Road, an award-winning acoustic funk band who independently produced four full length albums and performed over 1500 live shows nationwide. Fundis is a frequent collaborator with Blue Note Records artist Fareed Haque playing drums on 7 of his albums as well as touring throughout the US and abroad

Orian Rose

Orian Om Rozenzweig, professionally known as Orian Rose, is a drummer, composer, and record producer based in New York City. He was born on September 19, 1997, in Jerusalem, Israel, and spent his formative years in India from ages 3 to 9, where he learned to play the tabla.

Orian's passion for music led him to pick up the drums at the age of 10, and he quickly developed a prodigious talent for the instrument. He began studying classical piano and theory at the age of 12, further broadening his musical horizons. As a high school student, he attended the Israeli Conservatory of Jazz and Classical Music in Schtriker, Tel Aviv, where he honed his skills in jazz drumming
