Jazz Drummer Myron Cohen lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ca. where he's played with such luminaries as Michael Bloomfield, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Otis Spann, Ron Stallings, Azar Lawrence, Ravi Coltrane, Donald 'Rafael' Garrett, Woody Shaw, and Wayne Shorter - to name a few. Whether in sessions, live performances, recordings, or just informal jams, these musical experiences have given Cohen a huge vocabulary to share on the bandstand.

Philip May
Having always been fascinated by all things percussive, drummer Philip May played his first professional gig at the age of 14. By 16, he was already a regular performer in the local bar and jobbing gig scene. It was while he was 16 that he underwent a life-changing musical experience when he attended a 7 – week summer course at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, meeting and playing with people from all over the world. It was at this point that he decided to make music his life work. At 18, he was the leader of a jazz trio that featured guitarist Reg Schwager. They were invited to be the first group to record and broadcast from the then newly opened CBC and Radio Canada stations in Sudbury

Marc Beland is a drummer without borders. With a love of groove and strong melodies, the only criteria for his musical creation is that it be honest and relevant. Inspired just as easily by John Coltrane and Elvin Jones as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and even new acts like Vampire Weekend and Little Dragon, Marc is crafting a sound that is all his own. A Montreal native, his love of the drums was passed down from his father. From a very early age, he knew he never wanted to pursue anything else besides music. Gijs Dijkhuizen
Born:
Gijs Dijkhuizen started playing music at the age of six, classical piano and later also cello. He graduated at the conservatory of Amsterdam, where he studied from 1994 until 1999. His teachers were Gerhard Jeltes, Marcel Serierse and Cees Kranenburg. His main influences are Art Blakey, Elvin Jones and Philly Joe Jones. In 2001 he followed a jazz course in New York with “The B&W Quintet”. In his professional career Gijs Dijkhuizen played with many different groups like: Ruud Jacobs Quintet, The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, Peter Beets Trio, , Sjoerd Dijkhuizen Quartet, The Hague All Stars, The Reeds, The Erik Doelman Quartet and many more

Evan Tighe
Evan Tighe is a Montreal-based drummer and composer who specializes in contemporary jazz music and improvisation. He has recently completed a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from McGill University and released a modern jazz album entitled “Threadcount”. This album explores the creative space between the purely composed and the entirely-improvised through a dialogue of contemporary classical aesthetics and the jazz tradition. Evan currently works as a freelance musician in jazz, indie rock, folk and pop scenes, working with many Montreal bands and musicians. He is currently developing a course on the foundation of time and rhythm for private instruction and undergraduate programs, as well as currently composing music for several new jazz works.

Rick Finlay
Born:
A full-time professional drummer, percussionist and teacher since 1983, Rick’s performance credits include Just East, Liane Carroll, Si Cranstoun, Des O'Connor, Jacqui Dankworth, Sinéad O’Connor and Mari Wilson. He secured his first West End show chair at the age of 24, and his subsequent career as West End theatre drummer has included a 22-year run at Blood Brothers as well as Little Shop of Horrors, Chess, Time, and has seen him accompanying stars like Mel C, Natasha Hamilton, Marti Pellow, Cliff Richard, Stephanie Lawrence, David Cassidy and David Soul. His love of jazz has led to performances with many of the finest UK Jazz soloists including Ian Shaw, Martin Speake, Derek Nash, Gilad Atzmon, Tina May, Ed Jones, Jim Mullen, Julian Stringle, Jonathan Gee, Roger Beaujolais and many others. Television includes: Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Parkinson, The Jethro Junction, The Late Show. An innovative and enthusiastic teacher, Rick has directed workshops in Jazz and Latin-American percussion, as well as the business of music
