Denardo Coleman

Born:

Born in Los Angeles, California, in 1956, Denardo Coleman began playing drums at the age of six. His first appearance on record was on his father's 1966 album The Empty Foxhole, with Charlie Haden on bass. Haden said of Denardo's playing on that recording: "He’s going to startle every drummer who hears him." Denardo also featured on his father's later releases, including Ornette at 12 (1968) and Crisis (1969), and played as a member of Ornette's Prime Time ensemble in the 1970s. He also worked with his mother in the band The Firespitters, and has played with Geri Allen, Pat Metheny, James Blood Ulmer, and Jamaaladeen Tacuma. Coleman has also done extensive work as a producer, including on albums by both of his parents.

Jimmie Young Drums Jimmie Young first appeared in NYC with jazz artists Marian & Jimmy McPartland, Jack Teagarden, Bud Freeman, in jazz festivals opposite Dave Brubeck's Quartet, and live performances opposite Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman, Gene Krupa, Cozy Cole and Buddy Rich. In the late 60s Jim was called on to play in a revolutionary Broadway show called "Hair". He also appeared in "Company", "Old Calcutta", "Sweet Charity", "Starlight Express", and "Grand Hotel". He has also played live with many well known singing acts such as Dihann Carroll, Vic Damone, Julius LaRosa, Florence Henderson, Nancy Wilson, Jack Jones and Gloria Lynne

Doug Hirlinger

Doug Hirlinger is a drummer, vibraphonist, electronic musician, and composer raised in St. Louis and living in Philadelphia. He has toured throughout the United States and Europe and performed in such venues as Blue Note (NY), Birdland, The Iridium, and 55 Bar. He attended the University of North Texas and graduated from Manhattan School of Music. Over the last 28 years Doug has been fortunate to have played with many world renowned musicians. The list includes: Peter Bernstein, Stanley Jordan, Seamus Blake, Ralph Bowen, Joel Frahm, Rudresh Mahanathapa, Matt Mitchell, Jason Moran, Luis Perdomo, Jacob Sacks, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, The Philadelphia Orchestra and many more. Upon moving to Philadelphia the first of two times in 2001, Doug spent much of his time at the famed and beloved Ortlieb’s Jazzhaus where he worked with pianist Sid Simmons and others. A trio he co-led with Matt Michell and Tarus Mateen was a crowd favorite there as was Neil Podgurski’s New Fire, of which he was a member.

Harry Vetro

Canadian drummer and composer Harry Vetro (b. 1995) is a graduate of the University of Toronto Jazz program. Vetro leads an active performing career playing at major jazz festivals and venues across Canada: Jazz YYC (Calgary, AB), Yardbird Jazz Fest (Edmonton, AB), Toronto Jazz Festival, Ottawa Jazz Festival, Rex Hotel & Jazz Bistro (Toronto, ON), Jazz Room (Waterloo, ON), Resonance Café (Montreal, QC). Vetro has been featured as a rising star drummer in the Ottawa and Sudbury jazz festivals in Ontario. He currently leads a monthly residency at The Tranzac (Toronto’s premiere creative music club,) featuring new compositions inspired by nature and landscape. In 2017, as Canada celebrated 150 years of confederation, Vetro traveled coast to coast, visiting communities in Canada's six Indigenous cultural areas (Arctic, Subarctic, Northwest Coast, Plateau, Plains, and Eastern Woodlands) in an effort to connect with musicians and artists from different cultural backgrounds, and to better understand the land's long cultural history. As a composer, Vetro utilizes traditional roots and new perspectives in the growing genre of contemporary jazz music

Larry Eagle

Drummer and percussionist Larry Eagle keeps his musical portfolio diversified. He's a founding member of Bruce Springsteen's Sessions Band (which won a Grammy for traditional folk music), and played on R&B/Soul artist John Legend's Grammy-winning second album. He's played on a Blues Grammy nominee (with Odetta), a Country & Western Grammy nominee (with Andy Statman) and recorded albums with bluegrass superstar Ricky Skaggs and powerful Jazz/Soul singer Lizz Wright. Larry has performed on The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Good Morning America, PBS, the BBC and an ice-breaking Baltic Sea ferry out of Naantali, Finland.
