Dick Maley

Drummer/vocalist Dick “Spanky” Maley was born in Washington, DC. Dick attended Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester, VA. At the age of 22 he moved to New Orleans where he performed in night clubs on Bourbon Street with the “New Dixie Zing Kings” Dixieland show band. 1980 saw a move to Clearwater, FL where he started honing his jazz skills under the tutelage of jazz artists such as Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, Bill Allred, Tom Saunders, Chuck Hedges, Henry Cuesta, Bob Draga, Mike Vax, Bob Havens, Johnnie Varro and Ms. Connie Haines, to name a few. “Spanky” currently resides in Lakeland, FL near Orlando where he performs for the Walt Disney Company, as well as playing in many local jazz festivals

Tom Cabrera’s Unseen Rain recordings include Julie (UR9957) with the Julie Lyon Quintet, the trios Lion Hearted (UR9980) and Sumari (UR9962) and his duo with the quintet’s guitarist Jack DeSalvo have released several albums, among them are Tales of Coming Home(UR9986), Libra Moon (UR9978) and Juniper (UR9966). In addition to being an incomparable jazz drummer, Cabrera is an adept world percussionist, often adding to the proceedings instruments from all over the planet, particularly the middle-east. A Native of Long Island, NY, drummer and multi-percussionist Tom Cabrera began his career in local rock, folk-rock and country bands, but his love of jazz percolated and took over his music making

Janis Görlich

Janis studied Jazzdrums in Berlin (HfM "Hanns Eisler), New York City (Aaron Copland School of Music) and Sao Paulo (Conservatório de Tatuì). He currently lives, plays and composes in Berlin, Germany. His first album as a leader was released in september 2013 on Shoebillmusic. It is entitled "In der Ferne" and features a quintet with musicians from Sweden, Italy and Germany called BUMMELZUG EXPLOSION. The LP is a concept album which is released in two parts. Part Two features a Septet. It will be released in the spring of 2015. Janis' second album as a leader will be released on Vinyl in November 2014

Dor Herskovits

Dor Herskovits is an Israeli drummer based in Boston. 
 He began pursuing his passion for music at the age of 14, studying drumming and guitar. Dor studied in Rimon School of Music in Israel, while performing with top local artists in the Israeli Jazz scene. In 2010 Dor transferred to Berklee College of Music on an international scholarship. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at Berklee, Dor had spent a year in New York exploring the affluent jazz scene and performing and teaching. During that year he had also participated in the semi-finals of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz drummer competition. Recently, Dor had completed his Masters degree in jazz performance at the New England Conservatory

Dag Markhus

Born:

Dag Markhus is a Norwegian jazz drummer and musician based in New York City. Although born and raised in the country of mountains, fjords, and northern lights, it was the excitement and swing of American jazz that captivated his musical ears and heart. Since finishing his master's degree at The Juilliard School in 2014, he has stayed in Manhattan, working as a sideman, collaborator, and occasional soloist. A founding member of the Konrad Paszkudzki Trio, Dag has performed in some of the city's most reputable venues, recorded actively, and accompanied jazz icons such as Barbara Carroll and Bucky Pizzarelli

Lee Steck

Lee Steck has been playing drums and percussion for 45 years. He began studying with Skip Falls in Berkeley in the late ‘60s and later attended The Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, where he studied with Dave Garibaldi, Jerry Steinholtz, and Richie Lepore, among others.  Lee has performed professionally since the late ‘70s throughout California, New Mexico, and Colorado in a wide variety of musical settings, from straight ahead Jazz, to Avant Garde and Latin, Salsa and Nuevo Flamenco, Blues, Rock, and Afro-beat. He has played at the Santa Barbara Jazz Festival, the Taos Solar Festival, the Cherry Creek Festival in Denver, the Crestone Music Festival, and the Outpost Performance Center as well numerous clubs and dates. Lee is currently playing drums with The Mary Rose Jazz Trio, The 3 Faces of Jazz and the Mushi Project as well as vibraphone with Ornetcetera, and percussion with the fledgling Afro-beat band Shake Alert.
