Mauricio Zottarelli

Brazilian born, New York City-based drummer/composer Mauricio Zottarelli has been on the forefront of the Jazz, Latin and Brazilian music scenes for many years. Called a “superb drummer” by JazzTimes magazine, Zottarelli comes from a musical family and was born in Santos, SP, Brazil, but grew up in Rio Claro, SP in a highly musical environment. His first few years as a professional musician consisted of many performances throughout his native country as well as studio and session work with different artists and bands. Matt Jorgensen

Born: October 13, 1972

Since moving back to Seattle in 2002 after 10 years in New York City, Matt Jorgensen has been active in all aspects of the Seattle jazz scene. He has recorded four CD ’s with his group Matt Jorgensen +451 for Origin Records, and has toured extensively from New York to LA and in 2003 picked up an award for “Best Acoustic Jazz Group” by Earshot Jazz.

As a sideman he is frequently called on by an impressive list of musicians including Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander, Bill Mays, Vincent Herring, George Colligan, Reggie Workman, Tim Ries, Chuck Leavell and others.

Mark Merella

Born: May 12, 1964

Mark Merella is a musician whose versatility on both drum set and hand percussion has made him an in demand player for live, studio and educational settings. He began his professional career while still in high school playing summers at Wildworld theme park. He then attended Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and graduated in 1984. During his career Mark has worked with a wide variety of artists in the jazz and Latin music fields including Randy Brecker, Steve Turre, Ray Vega, Rene McLean, Hilton Ruiz, Steve Berrios, Paul Carr, Joe Ford, Eva Cassidy and percussion legend Candido Camero

Mark Huggett

Has toured as a drummer extensively in Europe and South Africa. Has also made many TV and radio appearances. Live performance include with Jean Toussiant, Jason Rebello and Annie Whiteheads Quartet and Prince Buster Has produced several albums including the South African Music Awards nominated and critically acclaimed “ Max Roach Park” Set up the Independent Record label Jazz Direct Also works in Music and Art education teaching drums, Art History and Digital Photography at the City Lit, CALAT and with The Annie Whitehead World Jazz Big Band Workshop Works extensively as a live session drummer in London, regularly playing Jazz, Rock Blues, Ska and World Music.
