Jon Opstad

Jon Opstad was born in Bristol in 1983 to a musical family. His first introduction to jazz was at the age of seven on hearing Miles Davis's 'Kind of Blue' and John Coltrane's 'A Love Supreme'. Studying first clarinet, piano and saxophone, Jon took up the drums at age 12. Starting composing in his teens, he was a finalist in the 2002 BBC Young Composer of the Year competition. Jon began studying music at Cambridge University in 2002 and recorded his first album 'Still Picture' the following year with some of the best student jazz musicians from Cambridge as well as younger brother James on fretless bass

Seattle drummer, Steve Korn, is a musician's drummer. Always making the musical content and quality his first priority, Steve's versatile drumming and overall musicianship has made him an integral part of the Seattle jazz scene. Audiences across the United States, Europe and Russia have heralded his work, hearing him on several recent tours and recordings. Steve has released three CD's as a leader, Here and Now, Pride and Joy, and most recently, Points In Time. All were released by Origin records and have received rave reviews. Steve won the Earshot Golden Ear Award for Northwest Emerging Artist for the year 2000. He began as a self-taught drummer in the mid-1970s. Ramón López settled permanently in Paris in January 1985 and joined the french and international jazz and artistic scene, where he has distinguished himself for forty years.
A jazz drummer renowned for his personal and atypical style, which is enriched by an immense musical culture, Ramón López is currently one of the most respected European artists in the field of contemporary jazz, having recorded more than 100 CDs and performing in concerts and festivals all over the world with some of the most influential and innovative representatives of the jazz universe

Bjorn Nyberg

Bjorn Nyberg; Drummer of Hybrid Freak Division. Born in Sweden, in 1972. Bjorn has been playing drums since kindergarden, which has led him to a diversity of musical educations. He has worked several years as a drumteacher and freelance drummer with a number of different musical constillations, including jazz tromboneplayer Ulf Werre/Johansson and pop singer Fredrik Swahn. Focusing nowadays mainly on jazzfusion/funk and progressive metal/death metal, he provides an unmatched energy and groove to the Hybrid Freak Division. He also have a sideproject called Kaoskester. The music is extrem introvert oddmeter-fusion.

If you were to list all the groups Jimmy Madison has worked with since his arrival in New York, it would read like a Who’s Who of modern music. A musician at four years, and a professional at age twelve, he has been playing jazz all his life. Leaving Cincinnati to join Miami trumpeter Don Goldie at age 19, he was quickly hired by bandleader Lionel Hampton after a gig at New York’s world-famous Metropole. Since then, he has performed and recorded with such diverse musical stylists as Marion McPartland, Bobby Hackett, James Brown, Gerry Mulligan, Nina Simone, Al Cohn, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Joe Farrell, George Benson, Richie Havens, Stan Getz, Hubert Laws ,Lee Konitz, Anita O’Day, Art Farmer, John Lewis, Ray Baretto, Shirley MacLaine, Maceo Parker, Ron Carter, Jon Hendricks, The Joffrey Ballet, Chet Baker, David Berger, Quincy Jones, Toots Theilmans and The Duke Ellington Orchestra, to name only a few.
Honing the skills needed to accompany all the various types of music played or sung or danced by the artists listed above has given Jimmy a rich appreciation for all music
