John Betsch

John Betsch was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1945 and presently lives in Paris. His mother was a church organist and pianist and his sister a dramatic soprano singer. John began playing drums at age nine and started playing professionally at 18 while a student at Fisk University. He continued his studies at the Berklee School of Music and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst under Max Roach and Archie Shepp; John also taught at U. Mass. and in state prison education programs. Moving to New York City in '75, he played drums with the Ted Daniel big band, Jeanne Lee, Abbey Lincoln, Dewey Redman, and others

Jacob Melchior, born in Copenhagen, Denmark, came to New York in 1994 and has performed with such notables as Eric Alexander, Harry Whitaker, Rob Bargad, Joe Cohn, Sam Yahel, Tulivu Donna Cumberbatch, Valerie Capers, Bertha Hope, Stjepko Gut, Frank Senior & Bent J椩g. He has appeared at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2001 & 2004 and at Copenhagen Jazz Festival, in addition to perfomances at The Blue Note in Seoul, South Korea and New York's Blue Note, Augis, Roths Westside Steakhouse, Smoke, Tavern on the Green, Aaron Davis Hall and at Cirque Voador in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Plays with his trio every Wednesday at Philip Marie 569 Hudson st @ W 11th st.

Jimmy Bennington

Jimmy Bennington (born May 22, 1970; Columbus, Ohio) is a self-taught artist who began playing professionally in Texas, 1990. Mentored by late John Coltrane drummer Elvin Jones during the last decade of his life, Bennington was eventually hired as Jones' band manager/drum tech, touring the world as part of the Elvin Jones Jazz Machine (2000-2002). Since then, Bennington lived on the West Coast for several years (1997-2006), and has made Chicago his home base (2006-Present). Jimmy has performed and recorded with artists such as Julian Priester, Perry Robinson, John Stowell, Ed Schuller, Bert Wilson, Ken Filiano, Steve Cohn, John Blum, John Gross, Daniel Carter, and French bassist Benjamin Duboc

Drummer and Composer Aaron Alexander is a New York City based klezmer and jazz drummer, composer, bandleader and educator. His original klezmer/jazz/world music band "Midrash Mish Mosh" has been acclaimed by critics, musicians and fans, and has appeared in respected venues in New York City, (Makor, Knitting Factory, Satalla, Live on WNYC's New Sounds with John Schaefer, and others) as well as Krakow, Poland; Vienna, Austria; and Toronto, Ontario. Over the past two decades, Alexander's performances and recordings with Hasidic New Wave, BABKAS(with Brad Shepik & Briggan Krauss), The Klezmatics, Greg Wall, Alicia Svigals, Satoko Fujii Orchestra, Ray Musiker, Tronzo Trio, Jay Clayton, Margot Leverett, Timebone, Alex Kontorovich, Freeplay, German Goldenshteyn, Boban Markovic' Orkestar, and Frank London's Klezmer Brass All-Stars have brought his music to the ears of listeners all over the world.
