What do you call a group of diverse, talented, multi-instrumentalist composers? You call them 'The Smoogies' — a musical smoothie blended with many cultures, life experiences, and certainly "a vibe."

Meet The Smoogies—a vibrant assembly of diverse, multi-talented composers steeped in a rich blend of cultures and life experiences. This musical smoothie, led by Vaughn "V.KEYS" Henry on keys and vocals, Dion Kerr on bass, Harvel Nakundi on drums and percussion, and David Chiverton on drums, embodies a fusion of formal musical training rooted in Miami and South Florida.

Jazz Interlude

Jazz Interlude is a 3-piece instrumental jazz band located in Portland, Oregon. We specialize in jazz and swing standards from the 1930's to 1960's as well as a diverse array of original compositions written by various members of the band. Jazz Interlude has been on the Portland music scene since 2012. During that time, we've been fortunate to have a monthly residence at O'Connors Vault where we continue to sell out the venue on a regular basis. We have also played at Mazza's, Camellia Lounge, Bar Carlo, Portland Pairings Wine Shop and special events such as the Newborn Oktoberfest, National Night Out, weddings, holiday parties, corporate parties, fundraisers, and many others

Born: December 19, 1963

Wayne began playing the drums at 8 and for over four decades has performed as a bandleader and sought after sideman at numerous NYC venues such as La Famille in Harlem, Birdland, Smoke Jazz Club, Grant's Tomb, Arthur's Tavern, Wells, Showman's, BB Kings, The Roxy Hotel, Village Gate, The Jazz Forum, NYU, Mezzrow, Churchill Grounds, Zinc Bar, Swing 46, Avery Fisher Hall, Maureen's Jazz Cellar, Smalls and Chelsea Table & Stage.

Wayne has performed with a host of renowned and talented artists such as Fred Mcfarlane, Emme Kemp, Melvin Sparks, George Benson, Jim Cammack, Mike Boone, Marco Panascia, Seleno Clarke, Danny Mixon, John Colianni, Jimmy "Preacher" Robins, Bill Easley, JJ Jackson, Irene Reid, Cynthia Holiday, Annette St. John, Mr. Tony Middleton, The Harlem Renaissance Orchestra, The John Peek Orchestra and The Cotton Club Orchestra.

Dario Congedo

Dario Congedo drums and percussion Dorian Dumont piano Federico Pecoraro electric bass Dario Congedo graduated in classical percussion and jazz drums at the Conservatory of Music “Tito Schipa” where he currently teaching drums. He has studied drums in Italy with: Maurizio dei Lazzaretti, Fabrizio Sferra and Alessio Riccio. He has studied in New York with: John Riley, Matt Wilson, Jonathan Blake, Jim Black, Ernesto Simpson, and Vince Cherico. He has also studied jazz at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2009. As leader and composer he recorded three albums, “Nàdan” (blue serge records 2009), “Calligrafie” (Desuonatori 2013), and the last work “Don't Quit” (Workin'Label 2020).

He has played and recorded with: Gianluca Petrella, Flavio Boltro, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Nicola Conte, Kekko Fornarelli, Julian Oliver Mazzariello, Rob Mazurek, Javer Girotto, Nguyen Le, Fabrizio Bosso, Marco Tamburini, Rosalia de Souza, Gegè Telesforo, Francesco Bearzatti, Nicola Conte, Lindsey Webster, Enrico Zanisi, Claudio Filippini, Tino Tracanna, Paolo Belli, Antonella Ruggiero, Carolina Bubbico, Renato D'Aiello, Rosalia De Souza, Rocco Zifarelli, Cheryl Porter, Simona Severini, Massimo Carrano, Gilson Silveira, Giovanni Imparato, Fabio Zeppetella, Nailah Porter, Jaques Mauger, Gaetano Partipilo, Arthur Miles, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, and many others.

Born: December 18, 1955

JACEK KOCHAN - composer, arranger, producer, drummer and percussionist. Graduate of Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (Master degree), studied music at Grant MacEwan in Edmonton. New York Studying with Jaco Pastorius, Mike Clark, Robbie Gonzales. Performing, touring and recording jazz and funk music. Montreal Studying composition and expanding his musical lexicon by writing for choir and symphony orchestra (Ensemble Vocal Tudor, Repercussion) as well as playing and recording ethnic music (Latin, African, Balkan). Performing with Michel Donato, Karen Young, Oliver Jones, Andrew Leroux, Yannick Rieu, Jean-Pierrre Zanella, Michel Cusson, Rene Bolduc, Helmut Lipsky, Muhammad Al-Khabyyr, Lazaro Saucedo, Geoff Lapp, Johnny Scott and many others. Toronto Working as a leader and sideman in many live and recording projects with artists like Pat Labarbera, Kenny Wheeler, Don Thompson, Mike Murley, Neil Swainson, Reggie Schwager, Lorne Lofsky, Kirk MacDonald, Bernie Senensky, John MacLeod, Dave Restivo, Brian Dickinson, Jim Vivian, Mike Downes, Kieran Overs, Neil Swainson.
