Edgar Bateman

Drummer Edgar Bateman Jr. has been around music his entire life. An aunt played piano, her husband played trumpet in jazz bands, and, ironically, his sister introduced him to the drums. She was in the drum corps, and, he says, "She brought some drumsticks home after the first practice they had, and she was showing me the beats they were playing on an oatmeal box. So that's actually how I got started." From that inauspicious start, Bateman began to play regularly and his mother eventually relented. He joined the drum corps too. Dino heard jazz at home while growing up, but not until 1962 at the age of nine did he attend his first jazz concert with his mother. Claremont University in southern California headliners included the Jazz Crusaders, Shelley Manne, Stan Kenton and the Gerald Wilson Orchestra. Dino's life changed forever - jazz and drums got into his bloodstream. Having studied under Greg Garcia and Bobby Dominguez, in 1968 he progressed into full time gigs to start saving for his college tuition. Dino graduated from Cal State University, San Bernardino, California with a BA in History. Living in Southern California afforded him opportunities to in his early years to play with great recording artists such Steve Tavaglione, Stan Watkins, and Bob Carlisle. In 1995, a move to Ponte Vedra Beach and in 2001 to Amelia Island, Florida, he recognized a lack of a jazz scene, jazz musicians, and jazz gigs

Jeff Williams

Jeff Williams was raised in Oberlin, Ohio where he began playing drums at age eight. Self-taught, with the aid of his parents’ collection of jazz recordings as a guide, he started playing gigs with local professionals at age fourteen. Jeff’s mother, Ann Williams, moved to New York to pursue a jazz singing career when he was nine, introducing him to a number of musicians who would be his early mentors, including drummers Jo Jones, Herb Lovelle, Elvin Jones, and Oliver Jackson. In 1967 Jeff made his recording debut with the psychedelic group Ant Trip Ceremony (Cicadelic). In 1968 Jeff entered the Berklee College of Music and studied drumming with Alan Dawson

Lindsay Prior

Began playing drums at age 12 with a marching band. After one year, became the solo drummer. Won the Kiwanis Music festival top honour at 16 for a snare drum solo. Studied at Berklee College of music 1963-1965. Toured with various bands from 1966-1974 and then retired from music. Was persuaded to begin playing again in 2004 by Warren Greig guitarist and played various gigs and jazz festivals in the Toronto area. Performed on CD "Here with You" with the trio. Released an album of original compositions Pieces of my Mind in June 2022. Available on YouTube and all streaming services.

Richard Bailey

Guyanese-born Richard Bailey started his drumming career in Trinidad at the age of nine, sitting in on percussion, drums and even bass guitar with his elder brother Robert's ( Robert Bailey, keyboard -OSIBISA) group, the top band in Trinidad and Tobago at that time. He also accompanied Robert, who played Hammond organ, to perform TV/Live concerts as a duo. At twelve years old Richard's family moved to London where Richard went to school, sitting in on occasional gigs in his spare time, but while at school Richard also excelled in athletics, becoming Southern England school champ at 100 metres

Born in Milan, Francesco Di Lenge started studying drums at the age of 16 with Bruno Fraimini. He started to move his first steps in the professional career in the early 90’working with several musicians (ranging from rock to jazz, latin and funk) of the “Milanese” area performing in many clubs (Capolinea, Scimmie, Tangram, etc..) and venues around italy and abroad, also appearing in few tv programs. In 1996 after achieving a scholarship, he moves to the U.S.A. to attend BERKLEE College of Music. During four years of staying he has collaborated with SKRAP, ska reggae band of the eastcoast (touring in several places around the states) and CATCH BETTY popular rock band from Boston. Berklee has been very important for his musical education, he studied with drummers such as KENWOOD DENNARD, CASEY SCHEUERELL, ED URIBE, STEVE WILKES, JAMEY HADDAD and many others. In the year 2000 he moved back to Italy where he begun to work for C.E.M.M

Who is Jesse Capon? Jesse Capon is a musician based in Toronto, Ontario, in Canada. But that’s not all. Read on… In the beginning Born into a very musical household, Jesse had the good fortune to grow up surrounded by some of Canada’s most prominent and talented musicians, many of whom came to his home to play music with his father, notable trombonist and conductor John Capon. While still swinging on his swing set, Jesse got to listen to such legends as Reg Schwager, Laren Lofsky, Dave Field, Gary Williamson and Terry Lewquiski. The swing factor rubbed off: he now finds himself in the enviable position of working alongside many of these outstanding members of the Canadian music scene. Early influences Many of Jesse’s early memories are of his father’s HiFi system and substantial LP record collection
