Quinerly grew up in a rich musical environment – one that nourished artists as stylistically diverse as pianists Jason Moran and Robert Glasper, drummers Sebastian Whittaker, Chris Dave and Eric Harland and guitarist Mike Moreno . They all attended Houston's High School of the Performing and Visual Arts, where the teachers, said Quinerly, were "incredibly devoted. They gave us a real head start." After graduating high school he ventured to the East Coast, more specifically, the Mannes School of Music at New School University where he got to study with three great drummers: Jimmy Cobb, Lewis Nash, and Kenny Washington

Tom Papadatos

Although the original plan was to be a New York Yankee, Tom Papadatos started playing drums in his sophomore year at Pascack Valley High School after being cut from the varsity baseball team. While in high school, he performed in the concert band, jazz band and marching band which inspired him to continue his music studies at Berklee College of Music. While there, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Performance. Tom has studied with Jazz greats Joe Morello, Sal Larocca, Tommy Igoe & Alan Dawson. Additionally he has studied with Matt Johnson (drummer for Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, and Josh Kelly), Freddy Gruber & Dom Famularo. He has been performing as a free-lance musician in the New York area for the last 15 years and has also toured extensively throughout the United States, Asia and Europe with various pop, rock, classical crossover and jazz artists and modern dance companies.

Tomek Grochot

Born: April 13, 1973

Tomek Grochot - drummer/percussionist/composer. A classically trained, independent musician playing mainly jazz and jazz related styles of music. Graduated from the Academy of Music in Krakow, Poland in 1999. At present he is working on a project featuring his own compositions, which had their premiere in 2006 during a special concert opening a new concert season in Studio S-5 of Cracow Radio. Both the audience and critics welcomed Grochot's music and all performers - a quintet of renowned Polish jazzmen - with great enthusiasm and respect. In 2008 Tomek Grochot recorded his first solo album which features a world famous jazz star Eddie Henderson on trumpet and fluegelhorn as well as great Polish musicians: Adam Pierończyk on saxophones, Dominik Wania on piano and Rhodes piano and Robert Kubiszyn on double bass

Adam Deitch

Born: April 26, 1976

While other kids were more interested in "Being Like Mike," Adam Deitch was more interested in "Being Like Quincy." Producer drummer Adam Deitch recalls, "It was around the age of 10 after I had been playing drums for 8 years, my mother told me my drumming skills along with my knowledge of melody and harmony would lead me to produce records for people". Having guitars, pianos, basses, recording equipment, synthesizers, and two parents who wrote music and sang all the time didn't hurt either.

Adam began composing around the age of 11 with his Dad's Ensoniq ESQ1 keyboard--one of the 1st keyboard/sequencers making beats that ranged from hip-hop, pop, R&B, gospel, jazz and fusion. Pretty soon artists in the neighborhood came knocking. "The tapes I was making at home were passed around at school, and the best artists from the area started coming by the studio." It was this early experience as a songwriter and a producer that has given Adam the wide spectrum of experience and influences that he brings to his work.

Eric Halvorson

Based in Brooklyn, NY, Eric has been active on the New York City music scene for over 20 years. He has performed with such jazz artists as John Fedchock, Dave Liebman, Bob Sheppard, Dave Stryker, Steve Slagle, Vic Juris, Adam Rogers, Joe Locke, Bruce Barth, Marilyn Maye, Fred Hersch, Mark Murphy, James Moody, and Bill Henderson; Broadway stars Christine Ebersole and Sherie Rene Scott; songwriter and pianist Marvin Hamlisch; soul singer Ben E. King; blues artist George Kilby Jr. and the legendary Pinetop Perkins to name a few. He has toured internationally with vocalist Ute Lemper and also works with many big bands including Josh Shneider's 'Love Speaks Orchestra', the Bill Warfield Repertory Big Band, and the George Gee Big Band

While a young student in Los Angeles, Jared had numerous opportunities to perform professionally and with various all-star bands, and won 4 Downbeat Student Music Awards, including a “Best Soloist” award, his senior year. Jared attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, during which time he received 3 more Downbeat Student Music Awards (including "Best Soloist" and "Top Collegiate Combo") before receiving his BA in 2005. Quentin E. Baxter

Quentin E. Baxter, a native of Charleston, SC, comes from a family of drummers with his mother leading the troupe. “I’m unable to recall a moment in my youth void of having drums either at home or church.” Baxter’s unique skillsets have garnered a GRAMMY Award as producer/performer, in total 4 GRAMMY Nominations as producer/performer, the 2017 South Carolina Governor’s Award for the Arts, a City of Charleston Proclamation “Quentin E. Baxter Day” – April 25, 2017, the 2017 College of Charleston Alumnus of the Year Award, the 2017 Eddie Ganaway Distinquished Alumni Award, and a 2017 Inductee to the Savannah Coastal Jazz Hall of Fame. Currently touring world-wide with GRAMMY Award winning Gullah sensation RANKY TANKY and multi-Grammy-nominated vocalist/composer René Marie, Baxter regularly performs many of the most prestigious venues and festivals, i.e., The Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.), Jazz at Lincoln Center (New York), SFJazz (San Francisco, CA), Joy of Jazz Festival (South Africa), Toulouse Jazz Festival (France), Umbria Jazz Festival and Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi (Italy), Savannah Jazz Festival, Savannah Music Festival, and, of course, Spoleto Festival USA (Charleston).
