Mark Haanstra

Mark Haanstra is a versatile bass player based in the Netherlands. He started playing classical piano at an early age but switched to bass in his teens after hearing the music of James Brown. Soon after he started his studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam where he graduated cum laude in 1997. Ross Kratter

Born: July 14, 1993

Originally from New York and now residing in Orlando, Ross Kratter performs on double bass, electric bass, fretless bass, synth bass, and tuba, and also works as a composer and arranger. A bandleader since age 10 and performing professionally since age 14, he has performed with such luminaries as Joshua Redman, Jay Siegel's Tokens, Bob Franceschini, Bob Reynolds, Alex Sipiagin, Gil Goldstein, Badal Roy, Dave Pietro, Randy Johnston, Victor Wooten, the Gabriel Alegria Afro-Peruvian Sextet, and many more. He was the bass player on the First National Tour of Bandstand, the 2018 US and Canada tour of A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage, and the 2016-2017 national tour of Fame the Musical. For six years he worked onboard cruise ships, and served as Musical Director and Bandleader for Cunard Line and P&O Cruises.

Marcos Milagres

Born: October 6, 1970

His career as a performer on bass and Double Bass is complemented by other areas within the recording and music production. Composer and arranger, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has developed through research and experimentation of the instrument, new ways and techniques of execution, which together with the influence of musical styles from Europe, Africa, North & Latin America; concur to enrich his music. In the scene, he has collaborated with great musicians of international stature such as Hermeto Paschoal, Greg Osby, Tom Coster, Paquito D’Rivera, Adam Rapa, Osmany Paredes, Jovino Santos Neto, Misha Piatigorsky, Robertinho di Paula and Henry Cole. He currently lives in Mexico City, where he has participated in a number of cultural events and festivals with important musicians of  Mexican jazz scene such  as Hector Infanzón, Cris Lobo, Chucho Lopez, Enrique Nery, João Henrique, Elizabeth Meza, Alex Mercado, Roberto “Betuco” Arballo, Victor Patron, to name a few. Marcos in now touring and promoting his new album "Feira" in several venues and festivals with his Trio being accompanied by the best musicians in Mexico City's jazz scene.

Mark Godfrey

Bassist Mark Godfrey is quickly becoming one of the new faces in Canadian jazz. Hailing from Southwestern Ontario and currently living in Toronto, he has established himself a mainstay in this national community and was named the 2019 Emerging Jazz Artist by the Toronto Arts Foundation. Composing and performing for many years with his contemporary jazz group, Pram Trio, Mark’s work as a co-leader, bassist, and composer has garnered international recognition. In 2014, this group was awarded the Grand Prix de Jazz from the Montreal Jazz Festival and has performed as a feature artist at jazz festivals across Canada including those in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, and Rimouski. Paul Jefferies

Born: February 21, 1955

Paul Jefferies is a professional bassist who performs and teaches in a variety of musical genres. With a range of influences from Ray Brown through Dave Holland and James Jamieson to Rob Amster and Christian McBride, Paul is a regular player with the trios Rob Terry Trio (www.robterrytrio.com), 3bpm (www.threebpm.com), Gypsy Fire (www.gypsyfire.co.uk), the BHQ (www.thebhq.com) and his own trio TANTRUM (www.tantrummusic.org).

Dmitry Vasiliev

Born: July 23, 1990

Dmitry Vasiliev is an outstanding Russian jazz multi-instrumentalist. His unique ability of improvising with voice and any instrument at the same time, the bright talent of playing, composing and arranging music make him a demanded musician, who works in various genres and roles. He's based in Saint-Petersburg, where he has finished Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory as a bouble bass player. As a teacher, he give the classes of arranging in School of music named after Mussorgsky. Dmitry has his own ensemble called "Empathy Project", also he is a member of "Classicize" by Irina Chehova, "The Acoustic Trio" in collaboration with Alexander Feldman and Igor Lozhevsky and the bal-folk project "Ember" by Dmitry Petrov, and a session singer/bass player in many other projects.

Tim Wolfe, Jr.

Born: January 6, 1985

TIM WOLFE, JR. keeps a busy schedule as a performer, recording artist, and educator based out of Philadelphia. Equally comfortable on double bass and electric bass, and fitting in any musical situation, from jazz to orchestral, theater to rock bands, Tim has played in a variety of settings and styles all along the Eastern seaboard and internationally. He holds a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from The University of the Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in music from Lebanon Valley College. In addition to keeping a busy performing schedule, he is an Adjunct Professor of Music at Lebanon Valley College

Anthony Pell

Born: May 31, 1975

Professional Melbourne bass player, Anthony Pell has been playing music for over 20 years and bass guitar since 2000 playing hundreds of gigs throughout Melbourne and Victoria. Influenced by Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), James Jamerson and jazz bass legends, Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke and many others, Anthony’s ever growing diversity is reflected through the styles that he plays funk, fusion, blues, jazz, classic and modern rock to chart pop tunes.

Ilaria Capalbo

Born: December 1, 1984

Stockholm-based bassist/composer Ilaria Capalbo’s playing has been described as “bold, visionary, architectonic,” (Lira, SE) and her writing ”lush” (NoTreble, USA). Originally from Naples,  Italy, she regularly works with musicians from the classical world, pop and jazz. Following the international acclaim of her 2022 debut Karthago, her new, upcoming work is inspired by the transformative experience of new motherhood.
