Dominic Harrison

Nowadays I’m part of the Jazz and Bigband scene in Hamburg and Germany, as well as internationally. In 2016 I auditioned at the HfMT Hamburg and successfully won a place to study Jazz-Drumset (Bachelor) with Holger Nell and in 2020 successfully auditioned for the Dr. Langner Jazz Master program. Since then Holger Nell is my teacher and mentor. I have also been awarded a Scholarship from the Oscar and Vera Ritterstiftung with the title “Ausnahmebegabung” (trl. exceptionally gifted). I also successfully auditioned for two of the prize winning (2019 IBBC) German State Bigbands based in Hamburg and Brandenburg respectively. In 2019 I won the “Northern European Jazz Talent” competition in Groningen, Netherlands. In this short period of time (2016 onwards) I have had the honour to play and work with musicians such as Randy Brecker, Wolf Kerschek, Lars Seniuk, Jiggs Whigham, Gabriel Coburger, Tom Götze, Joris Teepe, Finn Wiesner, Vlatko Kučan, Stefan Schultze, Bob Lanese, Lennart Axelsson, Dan Gottshall, Sandra Hempel, Lisa Wulff, Adrian Hanack and Benny Brown, as well as with my fellow students and friends.
