Jeff Miguel

Jeff Miguel is a saxophonist that currently teaches and performs in the Denver metro area. He received his Master of Arts Degree in Music – Emphasis in Jazz Studies from the University of Iowa and won the 2016 Downbeat Graduate Student Music Award for Best Blues/Pop/Rock Soloist. All About Jazz describes him as an “expressive” saxophonist, “like a seasoned veteran poised to establish himself as musician of note.”

In May of 2015, Miguel released, as a leader, his “auspicious debut” (Midwest Record), Perseverance. The album features all original compositions of a variety of styles and influences

the Azucartones

The DownBeat Award winning Azucartones is part of the Commercial Music Program at the Kent Denver School in Englewood, CO. The program focuses on styles of music not traditionally taught at the secondary level including R&B, salsa, jazz, soul, pop, and Afro-Cuban. In 2014, the Azucartones were recognized by DownBeat Magazine as the best high school Latin band in the country. They typically play 10-15 gigs each year throughout Colorado, and have performed in San Diego, New Orleans, and Miami. In 2014, the band invited to perform in Havana, Cuba, where they were able to attend a concert at the Karl Marx Theatre with member of the original Buena Vista Social Club

Paul Zaborac

Born: October 5, 1987

Paul Zaborac is a versatile saxophonist, composer, and educator. Originally from the Des Moines, Iowa area, he seeks to explore and push the musical boundaries of the saxophone through performance and composition, and to share this knowledge through teaching. Well versed in both classical and jazz saxophone, Paul brings a unique and diverse set of skills to his performances on the instrument. This unique combination of skills is displayed in the original compositions on his debut album Actualize (2012) where he explores how the saxophone can be used as an accompaniment instrument in improvised music

Paa Kow

Paa Kow is an internationally renowned artist, drum set player, composer, and producer. ERIC ROBERTS is an accomplished guitarist and bassist as well as composer, and has been playing professionally since the age of 16. He holds a B.A. in Music from Ithaca College and a Master’s in Music from the University of Miami. He has enjoyed a successful career playing in Broadway shows, backing up name entertainers such as Chuck Berry, The Fifth Dimension, The Drifters, Bob Hope, Joan Rivers, Anthony Newley, Maureen McGovern, Chita Rivera, the Smothers Brothers, Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell, Danny Ganz, recording with the Orchestre Suisse Romande, performing solo guitar concerts, giving music workshops, and providing music for every type of occasion

Grammy-nominated music educator Steve Holley served as the Producer for the Commercial Music Program at the Kent Denver School outside Denver, CO, for nineteen years. During his tenure the R&B, soul, salsa, and jazz bands of the CMP were recognized by DownBeat magazine’s Student Music Awards 15 times. The bands performed hundreds of gigs in the U.S. and abroad, held standing gigs at local clubs, performed on dozens of radio and television broadcasts, recorded at some of the most hallowed studios in the country, and performed with dozens of Grammy caliber artists. He is a sought after bassist and clinician with performances, master classes, and presentations given at dozens of state, national, and international conferences

Vic Dillahay

Born: November 4, 1979

With his wide-open tone and witty compositions, Colorado-based guitarist Vic Dillahay blends a myriad of styles into an unmistakably unique voice. For over 20 years, he has refined this distinctive sound with numerous jazz ensembles, Liam O’Beirne’s progressive Celtic band Indigent Row, and as part of the fusion trio Graphite Addiction with Pete Ehrmann (Generations) and Tim Carmichael (3ology). His discography is equally eclectic, having appeared on over 25 albums ranging from swing jazz to electronic noise. Vic's recent solo work explores the rich history of American music with free-roving jazz, blues, and rock-tinged improvisations.

Jason Klobnak

Mr. Klobnak is a versatile trumpet player that has been performing as an active musician, author, clinician, composer and educator. His bands, the JKQ (Jason Klobnak Quartet/Quintet) and J's Ruckus have released 5 albums that have done well on Jazzweek charts, Top 10 lists on international radio stations, and multiple positive reviews. They are Denver's blend of post-bop, indie jazz, neo r&b, and hip-hop. J's Ruckus performs infectious and up-lifting originals for audiences hungry for a unique Jazz experience. Mr. Klobnak also the trumpet and brass instructor at Arapahoe Community College, have released two very well reviewed Jazz improvisation books, do clinics, perform, and keep a steady teaching studio both in- person and on Skype
