Jeff Miguel is a saxophonist that currently teaches and performs in the Denver metro area. He received his Master of Arts Degree in Music – Emphasis in Jazz Studies from the University of Iowa and won the 2016 Downbeat Graduate Student Music Award for Best Blues/Pop/Rock Soloist. All About Jazz describes him as an “expressive” saxophonist, “like a seasoned veteran poised to establish himself as musician of note.”

In May of 2015, Miguel released, as a leader, his “auspicious debut” (Midwest Record), Perseverance. The album features all original compositions of a variety of styles and influences

the Azucartones

The DownBeat Award winning Azucartones is part of the Commercial Music Program at the Kent Denver School in Englewood, CO. The program focuses on styles of music not traditionally taught at the secondary level including R&B, salsa, jazz, soul, pop, and Afro-Cuban. In 2014, the Azucartones were recognized by DownBeat Magazine as the best high school Latin band in the country. They typically play 10-15 gigs each year throughout Colorado, and have performed in San Diego, New Orleans, and Miami. In 2014, the band invited to perform in Havana, Cuba, where they were able to attend a concert at the Karl Marx Theatre with member of the original Buena Vista Social Club

Originally from the Des Moines, Iowa area, he seeks to explore and push the musical boundaries of the saxophone through performance and composition, and to share this knowledge through teaching. He is a sought after bassist and clinician with performances, master classes, and presentations given at dozens of state, national, and international conferences

Mr. Klobnak also the trumpet and brass instructor at Arapahoe Community College, have released two very well reviewed Jazz improvisation books, do clinics, perform, and keep a steady teaching studio both in- person and on Skype
