Deep Ecology Trio debuts EP Sticks and Stones on Deep Ecology Recordings (DER). Deep Ecology Trio is an NYC-based free improvisation group consisting of Cristian Amigo (guitars, percussion), J.D. Parran (winds, percussion), and Andrew Drury (drums, percussion). For the listener, the musical emphases on rhythm, color, and multiple temporal planes conjure images of natural and urban spaces and processes. Melody and harmony appear as human traces rather than as central organizing principles. Sounds vibrate and rumble, buzz, descend and ascend, and come together in composites before dissolving into individual lines
