Sir Stevie: Jammin' on Stevie Wonder - Part 2

Read "Sir Stevie: Jammin' on Stevie Wonder - Part 2" reviewed by Ludovico Granvassu

Stevie Wonder has often infused his performances with compelling renditions of jazz standards like Miles' “All Blues" or Coltrane's “Giant Steps." Francesca Prihasti: Adriana

Read "Adriana" reviewed by Dan Bilawsky

Francesca Prihasti paints a series of fantastic notions and tuneful tales on Adriana. For this, her third album following Night Trip (Self Produced, 2014) and Evolving (Self Produced, 2015), the young pianist expands her palette while drawing meaning from the personal realm: The album's inspiration is Prihasti's late mother, Adriana, who passed away in May of ...

Dan Bilawsky's Best Releases of 2018

Read "Dan Bilawsky's Best Releases of 2018" reviewed by Dan Bilawsky

I had the pleasure of hearing north of 400 albums this past year, and I had the privilege of ...

Dave Pietro: New Road: Iowa Memoirs

Read "New Road: Iowa Memoirs" reviewed by Dan Bilawsky

In essence, New Road: Iowa Memoirs is the story of an urbanite's awakening to the rural lure. But to state this album's meaning in such reductive terms is to minimize its power and undercut the very beauty that inspired its creation in the first place. Back in 2011 and 2012, The University of ...

All About Jazz needs your support

Donate
All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
