Musician

Curlee Dinkins

During the fifties Curlee Dinkins, along with Robert Byrd (Bobby Day), David Ford, and Willie Ray Rockwell, formed the original group, "The Hollywood Flames". The group toured with popular bands and artists like Johnny Otis, the Jeep Smith Band, B.B. King, Johnny Guitar Watson and many more. Riding on the coat tails of The Flames' smash hit, "Little Bitty Pretty One", they appeared on American Bandstand and many of the local television shows throughout the United States. When the group signed with the ‘Class Records’ label, the Flames received a new name (the Satellites) and Robert Byrd was given a new professional name (Bobby Day)
