Prior to releasing four albums of his own original music, composer/arranger John Evans had been best known for his work with saxophonist David Sanborn on the RIAA certified gold, Grammy-nominated album, HIDEAWAY. Evans composed and co-penned with Sanborn, the tune that became the single release for the album. This past year, Evans released three successful music videos. One of them, "All I Wanna' Do is Dance" has already received over one million views on YouTube. John Goldman began his professional career in his home town Portland, Oregon with some of the area's best musicians such as Tom Grant, David Friesen, and Jeff Lorber. After years of playing, composing and teaching on the west coast, John decided on the suggestion and encouragement of saxophone great Eddie Harris, to relocate in Chicago. Since moving to Chicago in 1988, John has added to his already eclectic influence from the West Coast. He has performed extensively with Brazilian musicians Paulino Garcia, Chicago Samba, and Luciano Antonio, as well as Latin Jazz artists Ruben Alvarez, Silvia Sossa, and Tito Carrillo. He has performed with the Chicago Jazz Ensemble, and the Chicago Jazz Orchestra.

He began his education at the University of Amherst, studying Jazz and African American Music Studies; and in 2008 earned his Master of Music, Jazz Composition, degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. I started my musical journey at the age of 8, playing guitar, for different school bands, also composing music since then. during my early years I focused on latin american music, trova, rock, pop and some related geners, eventually i passed through some classical training, funk, peruvian rythms and finally i end up in the jazz, fusion thing, and i've been there for a good time now, playing in any gig i can get, everything from bebop to contemporary jazz. I have been very lucky to be trained by the best musicians peru has to offer, people such as Alonso Acosta, Diego salvador, Monica Gastelumendi, Laura robles, etc
