Ed Kriege

Former professional drummer (recording, touring) with a BA in Music and I'm seeking an ensemble that plays straight-ahead, fusion, ECM and/or smooth jazz. I'm seeking seasoned ensembles /musicians (you have your chops together) and I'm happy to just jam or preferably play out. I also have a rehearsal room in my house with a 9' Yamaha concert grand in top condition, so a pianist won't mind rehearsing on it I can guarantee you that. Kenne Thomas

Born: September, 1953

Drummer, composer, and author, Kenne Thomas is the son of Chicago bebop saxophonist, Jimmy “Bouncy” Whitehead. Influenced by family friends, Gene Ammons and Sonny Stitt he began his musical career in his hometown of Chicago performing with notable musicians, Jodie Christian, Ari Brown, Adam Rudolph the Charles Walton Big Band, and the Black Artists Group. In the early 70’s Kenne moved to Minnesota where he performed with pianist, Jimmy Bowman Trio. Attending Moorhead State University, he played around the region with the R & B horn band, AIRTIGHT. After graduating with a degree in Music Education, he joined the Jerry Lakes Memories of Elvis Supershow which toured throughout the US and in Europe. Kenne went to Japan, in 1979 to perform, with the Pullman-West Band, out of Detroit

Ethan Adelsman

Born: March 9, 1977

Peter Saltzman

Born: April 4, 1961

It started at age 4, seated at the piano. A single note that moved and morphed through the years, becoming Peter’s unique musical language. His organic fusion of qualities—the distinctiveness and improvisation of jazz, the soul of blues, and the compositional technique of Bach, Beethoven, and other classical composers—led to an emergence of new sounds, a new feel, a new purpose. Peter’s broad career in the music industry as composer, pianist, singer- songwriter, and entrepreneur started as a budding teenage jazz musician in Chicago. He studied jazz at the Bloom School of Jazz (Chicago, IL), majored in jazz at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN), and majored in composition and piano at Eastman School of Music (Rochester NY)

I've been playing the piano since 2nd grade. Music is part of me, but I veered from music and became a physician—a pediatrician, to be exact. It took a brush with cancer and a deep focus on meditation to return to the path that my inner self truly leads—the path of music. Now I've been on the Chicago music scene since 2015, and since 2015 have had a monthly at Serbian Village Restaurant in Chicago, and since the beginning of 2016 have had a monthly at 210 Restaurant & Live Music Lounge in Highwood. My group plays originals, standards and new standards, bringing to jazz some of the great songs of our youth.

Sam Fazio

Sam Fazio made his return to the Chicago music scene in 2009 and has been making an impact ever since. Sam is a graduate of DePaul University’s School of Music. Sam’s repertoire includes a unique mix of American standards, swing tunes and pop classics. His heartfelt interpretations showcase his soulful, yet classic style. Sam is currently on hiatus from the Coq d'Or at the Drake Hotel, where he held residency for the past 5 years. Sam has performed at many of the prestigious venues around the US, such as Green Mill, Jazz Showcase, Andy's Jazz Club, Untitled and SPACE (Chicago), Cliff Bell’s (Detroit), and Feinstein's at the Loews Regency and 54 Below (New York City)

Adeola Gideon

Born: September 8, 1985

Adeola Gideon (with the stage name H19 or Horllar 19gale) is a very passionate jazz musician. With about 12 years experience, he has musically and professionally contributed in one way or the other to the success of several hit records in Africa. With a university degree in music education, he started professional musical performance as a vocalist and latter became a lead guitarist then went further to study studio/sound engineering/music production. He has recorded and performed with several famous musical band in Africa. Currently, Gideon is a Jazz tenor saxophonist, tenor vocalist and a music teacher

Billy Harris

Born: October 24, 1987

Bill Harris is a drummer, composer, improviser, and audio engineer from Pittsburgh currently located in Chicago. Starting private drum and percussion studies at age eight, Bill embarked on a lifelong journey of musical education that continues to this day. Playing in various rock, funk, and jazz groups at clubs and concert venues throughout his early years, he eventually relocated to Chicago. In 2014, he started the trio Four Letter Words, with pianist Matt Piet and saxophonist Jake Wark, who play primarily original compositions centered around group improvisation. Matt Piet

Born: April 7, 1986

Matt Piet is an improvising pianist and composer based in Chicago, IL. He is co-leader of the trio Four Letter Words and the "Piet" of the trio Rempis/Piet/Daisy. After his studies in straight-ahead jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, Piet shifted gears and began playing mostly improvised music. An active participant in Chicago's vibrant jazz and improvised music scene, Piet has recorded in trio, duo, and solo contexts, which can all be found via his website: mattpietmusic.com.
