Stratøs
Born:
Michigan native Stratøs is a saxophonist, composer, producer, photographer, and cinematographer whose presence in the Los Angeles scene is rapidly growing. Having embraced the melodies of the Cool School early in his development, Stratøs now leaves behind a unique sonic imprint as a producer. His affinity for analog textures is felt not only in his music, but his photography. By combining the two, he’s created an entire ecosystem brimming with life. Stratøs is a three-time winner of the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award from 2019-2021. Additionally, he was awarded the ASCAP Foundation’s Johnny Mandel Prize as well as being selected as a National Sawdust New Works Commission Contest winner. The latter granted the composer the opportunity to write for the world renowned JACK Quartet.

Noel Taylor

Noel Taylor is an active musician, now living in Lisbon, Portugal. Whilst living in London he was a part of the free improv scene, frequently playing at venues such as the Vortex, Battersea Arts Centre, Cafe Oto, Iklectic. He has released CD's via the label, citystream; with 'Bay's Leap', 'Splatter', a duo with Niko Meinhold, a duo with Alberto Popolla, 'Uncle Rabbit', the 'Improvising Clarinet Ensemble' , a project named 'Stones of Contention' recorded in Sicily with a sextet, 'Quartet Exquis' (in Portugal during the Covid lockdown) ,and solo and group releases on net labels - Headphonica and Clinical Archives

Waxwing
Formed in 2007, Waxwing is a co-led group created by three veterans of the Vancouver music scene: Tony Wilson on guitar, Peggy Lee on cello and Jon Bentley on saxophones. The trio has released three studio recordings featuring their original compositions: "Flicker Down" (2021 Songlines Recordings) , "A Bowl Of Sixty Taxidermists" (2015 - Songlines Recordings), and "Escondido Dreams" (2007 - Drip Audio). The recipient of numerous Canada Council Grants, Waxwing has performed their unique works in concerts across Canada and has been a regular favourite in the Vancouver International Jazz Festival

Yotam Ishay
Born:
Grammy-nominated composer, pianist, bandleader, and educator whose work moves fluidly between jazz, classical, and global traditions. Born in Israel and based in Brooklyn, his music is shaped by impressionistic harmony, Mediterranean rhythm, and deep improvisational practice.
His composition "Reminiscing" from debut album Opus 1 was featured in Netflix productions, and his solo piano album SEED received international acclaim from Japan's JAZZ LIFE and France's Djolo. His latest release, Singing of the Herbs(2025), continues his exploration of melody, texture, and cross-cultural musical dialogue. He has been recognized as a three-time finalist in the International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition and received a Grammy nomination for his work with the Berklee Indian Ensemble on Shuruaat.

Gwen Laster
Gwen Laster is a nationally acclaimed musician who has been the recipient of awards by the National Endowment for the Arts, Jubilation Foundation, Puffin Foundation, Arts Mid Hudson, Lila Wallace, and the Cognac Hennessey 1st place Jazz Search. She's a native Detroiter whose creative influences come from the Motor City's exciting urban and classical music culture. Gwen started improvising and composing because of her parents love of jazz, blues, soul and classical music and her inspiring music teachers from Detroit's public schools.
Laster relocated to NYC after earning two music degrees from the University of Michigan. She began collaborating, performing and recording with internationally-known creative and commercial artists that include Anthony Braxton, Nona Hendryx, Aretha Franklin, Wadada Leo Smith, William Parker, Danny Elfman, Sun Ra Arkestra, Tyler, the Creator, Gladys Knight, Emeline Michel, Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, Alicia Keys, Rhianna, Shaggy, Andrew Baba Lamb, Natalie Cole, Solange, Mark Anthony, J Lo and Shakira at President Obama’s Inaugural Neighborhood Ball. Playing local jazz clubs and subbing Broadway shows (Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, Carousel, Wicked, Porgy and Bess, The King and I) were woven around Gwen's NYC performing and teaching rhythm.

Alvaro Rojas

Alvaro Rojas is a guitarist, composer and educator based in Vancouver B.C. As a guitarist he has been a regular performer with local pop, r’n’b, and free improv artists, as well as leading his own Alvaro Rojas Trio and the dub reggae band Big Buck. As a composer, Alvaro has had his works performed by many of Canada’s finest new music groups, including the Turning Point Ensemble, Aventa Ensemble and the Microcosmos String Quartet. He has written music for choir, big band, orchestra and various chamber groups, and has scored 15 short films. His passion for many types of music is synthesized in the trio’s recent recording, Gala, which brings a broad range of influences together in the familiar guitar/bass/drums trio setting

Multi-reedist Matt Renzi has been performing professionally for the past 20 years at international jazz festivals and music venues worldwide. For the past decade, he has been recognized multiple times by jazz organizations in Italy, Spain, Belgium, India and Israel as well as in the United States for his advanced concepts in spontaneous group composition and collective improvisation with The Matt Renzi Trio. He holds a Bachelor’s in Music (Performance) from the Berklee College of Music and Master’s in Arts (Classical Composition) from San Francisco State University.
