Nato 12 anni fa in dialettica relazione con l'Angel Quartet, identico nella strumentazione ma dalla decisa impronta elettrica ed elettronica, il Devil Quartet di Paolo Fresu aveva mantenuto nei due dischi precedenti (Stanley Music del 2007 e Desertico del 2013) le relazioni con l'elettricità, pur diversificando la ricerca timbrica e aggiungendo dosi di lirismo.
