Buddy Jones was born in Lake Tahoe, CA. Though he grew up in the hot desert of Arizona he finds himself living in cold climates like Boston & New York. He started guitar at age eleven & submerged himself into music. Buddy would pickup anything he could get his ears on like rock & blues. His first influences of guitarists like Jimi Hendrix were invaluable. While attending an art high school in Phoenix he ventured into jazz. Later going on to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA under his World Tour Scholarship. He was also awarded along the way for his five years of teaching before college and his contribution to his students’ development.With guidance and instruction from great players and educators to name a few John Wilkins, Jim Kelly, Sheryl Bailey, Dave Debree, Jon Wheatley, Jim Zupancic & Larry Baione
