Saxophonist and composer Michel Nirenberg, a native of Rio de Janeiro, has been carving out a niche in the Washington, DC jazz scene since coming to the United States in 2012. He has already made a name for himself in Brazil, performing in many festivals and winning in competitions throughout the country while earning a bachelor’s degree in music at the top of his class from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). In 2014, he graduated with a master’s degree in music from James Madison University, where he was a teaching assistant and active performer. Throughout his career, Manoel has released albums that mark his artistic evolution: "Alcatéia" (2002), "Under My Soul" (2012), and the acclaimed "Brazilian News" (2019). The latter, praised by journalist and music critic Carlos Calado, brought a special flavor to his work with Latin jazz and featured Italian trumpeter Gabriel Rosati. "Brazilian News" not only gained over 15,000 listeners in 61 countries on Spotify but also had memorable launch shows at Blue Note SP and the Extrema MG Jazz and Blues Festival in 2019.

Paula Maya is an award winning Brazilian pianist, keyboardist, singer, composer and recording artist, nominated Best Brazilian Musician living in the US. The official release of her eleventh album Mar da Minha Terra, Yellow House Records, is July 25th 2023.

Paula Maya has songs in several compilations with artists such as Jimmy Cliff. She holds a degree from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music in Rio de Janeiro. Her compositions have roots in Brazilian traditional rhythms and melodies, such as maracatú, baião and samba. They are also inspired and influenced by bossa nova, jazz, blues, Cuban music and African music.
