Colin Towns’ new six piece band released their debut album ‘Stand Well Back’ in Germany on the 13th May 2011. Formed in 2010 with German and UK musicians, the writing/recording took two years to complete. Featuring Mark Lockheart (Polar Bear, Loose Tubes), Chris Montague (Troyka, Kit Downes), Benny Greb (Peter Wölpl, Ron Spielman), Stephan Maass (Randy Brecker, Kruder & Dorfmeister), and Edward Maclean (Peter Fox, Nils Wülker). Blue Touch Paper has no barriers “rarely does a piece of music demolish the well known conceptions of sound and structure.” Jazz, rock, film, classical, electronic etc - it’s all of these but none of these
