Born:
I'm a jazz double bass player. In most bands I'm in I play straight ahead jazz. Aerts & Baumgarten is a mainstream duo (guitar and bass), Play it hard is a hardbop quintet and with my own trio, the Philip Baumgarten Trio, I play my (jazz) compositions. I also play in a trio Pot, Baumgarten & Van Astenrode, that plays a crossover of folk and jazz. I've just recorded a nice cd with that band called 'Home'.
