Hello,my name is Russell,and i am a freelance bassist from Trinidad & Tobago. I decided to become a professional musician at age 16(1976),and by 19,i was playing in clubs in Trinidad.Did my first recording in Trinidad in 1980,and have been performing at Caribbean Festivals,ever since,Reggea Sunsplash-Jamaica(1984),Barbados Jazz Festival,Grenada Jazz Festival,St.Lucia Jazz Festival,Martinique Guitar Festival,Tobago Jazz Festival,to name a few.I did a three year stint in Malaysia,performing at the Holiday Inn(Kuching),Holiday Inn(Kuala Lumpur),Legend Hotel(Kuala Lumpur),Park Royal Hotel (Penang). While Music as a career,has been a "roller coaster" ride(especially in my country),it has been very good to me,allowing me to make many new friends along the way,to learn from the experiences of others,and to work with many of the Artist,both local and foreign,Clive "Zanda" Alexander,Carlton "Zanda Alexander,Mike Boothman & Kaiso Fusion,Errol Ince,Sean Thomas,Chantal Esdelle & Moyeen,Patti Rogers,Vaughnette Bigford,Steve Neaves & Zu Zun Geng,Shaman,Jaundis I featuring Robert Beadon,Sean Adrian Bartholomew,Wayne Guerra & Friends,The U.T.T Faculty Band,Ken "Professor" Philmore,Earl Brooks,"Boogsie Sharpe,Liam Teague,Luther Francoise,Arturo Tapping,Jonathon Scales,Andy Narell,Lauren Klassen,Dave Marcellin(while he was born in Trinidad,he lived in the US for over 20yrs,coming back recently to give back freely what he acquired over the years,we worked together right up until his death a couple of months ago). Over the years,i have played in a number of groups performing different genres of music,Calypso and Soca(the music of my country),but also Reggea,Rock,R&B,Funk,Soul,Jazz,and a fusion of Calypso and Jazz called "Kaiso Jazz",which is becoming popular in my country now.

Jaime David Vazquez

Jaime David Vazquez was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and started with classical guitar and music theory lessons at age 16. He entered the Inter-American University to study music education and bought a bass and started gigging with lots of bands, artists and performing in studio sessions. With such a busy schedule, Jaime had to put his studies on hold for a while; when the time was right, he returned to the university but he changed his main instrument from classical guitar to double bass and electric bass. Jaime loves the low frequencies in music. He believes that the bass is still a young instrument with lots of possibilities that have not been explored enough

From the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, Linley Marthe is considered by some as the world’s foremost jazz bassist. That's quite a claim.
