Thundercat

Thundercat is the alter ego of virtuosic bassist / singer Stephen Bruner. The South Los Angeles-native has released two critically acclaimed full length albums on Brainfeeder Records since 2011, and last year saw the release of widely praised mini-album The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam. The album features appearances from the legendary Herbie Hancock, fellow Brainfeeder family members Kamasi Washington, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Mono/Poly and production work from Brainfeeder head, Flying Lotus. 2015 also saw Thundercat make outstanding contributions to landmark albums by Kamasi Washington (The Epic) and Kendrick Lamar (To Pimp A Butterfly)

Born in Oslo, Norway, 15th July, 1986. Grew up in a village outside Trondheim, Norway called Børsa. Started playing bass at age 14, studied with bass players Andreas Bergsland (the first two years) and Mattis Kleppen (the next seven). Attended the jazz department of Sund Folk College 2005-06. Attained a bachelors degree in performing jazz at the jazz department of NTNU Music Institute in Trondheim in 2010. Attained a European Jazz Masters degree (EUJAM) at the jazz department of NTNU Music Institute in Trondheim in 2013 with exchange to Berlin Jazz Institute (Spring 2012) and Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen (Fall 2012). I'm a 37 years old musician from Munich/Germany, playing Electric Bass / Fretless Bass. I started playing music as a kid. After extensively learning trumpet for 10 years (solo and orchestra) I quit. A few years ago I rediscovered my love for playing music and started to play bass. And I never stopped.

Christian made his debut on the national stage in 2006 performing at the Capital Jazz Festival. His band, Groove Skool was chosen from 50 entries to compete against up and coming artists such as Ken Ford, Matt Marshak and Ragan Whiteside. Groove Skool went on to release "Limited Edition” which yielded a top 10 most requested song, "Latin Jive". The band also sold out the legendary Blues Alley Jazz and Supper CLub in Washington, DC, and played large outdoor events such as the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival in Mitchellville, Maryland, and the 2nd Street Festival in Richmond, Virginia, both with crowds of over six thousand in attendance

Dan Krimm

Dan Krimm began studying music formally with classical violin lessons (and brief study on piano as well) while in elementary school in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the 60s. He concentrated on violin through high school, also picking up acoustic guitar informally in junior high.
While in college at Princeton in the 70s, he got hooked by the contemporary developments in jazz, especially including Chick Corea's 'Return to Forever' group and a host of artists recording for ECM Records. In 1975, he bought his first electric bass, and began learning the instrument, the jazz form and improvisation, and composition.
