Enzo Favata is one of the most active and best known Sardinian musicians on the Italian and international music scene, having played more than 2,000 concerts the world over. His research weds tradition and modernity and ranges between different musical cultures. He has studied classical and jazz saxophone, plays the soprano, sopranino and tenor sax, and the bass clarinet, as well as other ethnic wind instruments, above all from Sardinia – he is also a capable user of electronics, that he utilises together with acoustic instruments. He has played and recorded with Dino Saluzzi, Miroslav Vitous, Dave Liebman, Enrico Rava, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Django Bates, Lester Bowie, Flavio Boltro, Michel Marre, Tenores di Bitti, and many others. World-renowned multi-instrumentalist, composer, orchestrator and educator Makanda Ken McIntyre was a tireless musical innovator for nearly half a century, with 12 albums and more than 600 compositions and arrangements to his credit. His works include compositions for woodwind quartets, chamber ensembles, jazz bands, and full orchestra, as well as hundreds of lead sheets. He composed ballads, calypsos, bebop, avant-garde and the blues. Federico Calcagno (1995) is a clarinet and bass clarinet player, creative jazz musician and composer from Milan, Italy, and currently active between Italy and The Netherlands. <> has considered on of the most exciting clarinet players and creative musicians of the young generation. As composer, Federico regularly writes music for his bands: Liquid Identities, Piranha, The Dolphians, Fade in Trio. His compositional style is a mixed between creative-expressive jazz and post modern classical music, with particular attention to the rhythmic aspect, influenced by classical Indian music from south of India (Carnatic Music) and African music. As leader and co-leader, Federico has released three albums and one EP till now: From Another Planet (2019), Liquid Identities (2020), Urlo d’Ebano (2021), Piranha (2021). Federico studied classical and jazz clarinet at Milan Conservatory, and in 2019 he graduated in Jazz Master in bass clarinet at Amsterdam Conservatory and attended the International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Canada), directed by Vijay Iyer and Tyshawn Sorey. Holding a Master's Degree in Music from the notorious California Institute of the Arts, Michael received his undergraduate training at Cuesta College and CSU Northridge, and has studied under such great improvisers and composers as James Miley, George Stone, Matt Harris, Liviu Marinescu, Larry Koonse, Joe LaBarbera and Rob Lockart. Michael has developed a sound and style of his own that permeates both his playing and writing, drawing from a diverse pool of influences.
