Zing!

ZING! was originally formed for a one time performance on May 22nd, 2006 celebrating the birthday of one of the band members. After this first performance it was a mutual understanding that this Chicago-based group of musicians would soon become a new group. ZING! draws on the traditions of both acoustic improvised music, electronica and ambient music, with members contributing personal musical identities and backgrounds including a wide range of musical styles. Although all members of ZING! are steeped in the jazz tradition, all have ventured into other musical dimensions through study and performance with groups playing latin, rock, funk, drum ‘n bass, free jazz, classical, punk and many other styles of music

The Budos Band is the quintessence of Staten Island Soul. Their exciting new afro-influenced take on instrumental music has been captivating listeners from turntables as well as bandstands across the nation. Eleven pieces in all, their group consists of drums, bass, guitar, electric organ, two trumpets, baritone saxophone, and a percussion section employing bongos, congas, tambourine, guiro, clave, shekere and cowbell. Their music has been described as “compelling”, “unbridled”, “psychedelic”, “innovative”, and above all “soulful.” However, like many majestic things, their sound had humble beginnings. Brother Bill & the Texas Blues Burners

Band Bio's: Brother Bill: Hi i'm brother bill, I've come to spread the gospel of the blues. I've been playing since I can't remember, and I never want to stop. I've lived the blues and I've seen hard times, played dives and palaces, made money and sometimes just played all nite for a beer and a bad time. But I love music and I love the blues and they kept me going and believing in my dreams. So this is a new chapter in the book I'm gonna write someday when I can't do nothing else. Till then plan on hearing lots of sounds from the brother. Why this name? It's really a good fit for me as I'm a believer and my name is Bill

Soft Machine

Active since:

Soft Machine was formed in 1966 by Robert Wyatt, Mike Ratledge, Kevin Ayers and Daevid Allen. Wyatt had already worked with Allen in the Daevid Allen Trio (which Ratledge occasionally jammed with) in 1963, and with Ayers in the Wilde Flowers in 1964. Although the band had its roots in Canterbury, it soon became a London- based band. In January 1967, the band's one and only single ever was recorded : it had two songs on it, "Loves Make Sweet Music" and "Feelin', Reelin', Squeelin'". Three months later, a collections of demos was recorded at DeLane Lea Studios with producer Giorgio Gomelsky, but not officially released until 1971 (on two compilations on the French Byg label)

Asdrubal

Originally Formed as a quartet in 2002, the present sextet ASDRUBAL adventures seeking new ways to express the music of the Banda Pelayera and chirimia (traditional folkloric formats from the different coasts of Colombia). Articulating their music with a variety of elements from everyday urban sonorities " spontaneous improvisation, rock, free, jazz, punk, minimalism, amongst others, Asdrubal offers a fortunate meeting ground for two different, apparently irreconcilable musical languages: the traditionally folkloric and the contemporary. The band has dedicated its time to composing original music and has stood out due to their live performances in important festivals, theatres and concert halls in the national circuit
