Mente Clara was born in Texas out of a love for the music of Hermeto Pascoal and other Brazilian masters. They combine soaring melody, sophisticated jazz harmony, and the danceable rhythms of Northeastern Brazil into a sound that is all their own. Straddling the line between jazz, world music, and fusion, the band has toured from coast to coast, developing a reputation for exciting live shows along the way. Træben has everything that defines jazz. Their music is energetic and playful, groovy, spacious, dynamic and transparent. The songs leave an impression of freedom within the performance that has no boundaries and can leap in any direction at any time. The foundation of the music consists of melodic compositions which in performance unfolds into colorful worlds. The band explores the worlds, molding them in their interplay and expanding them seeking new borders and possibilities within them. In this way each song becomes a story with a beginning and an end from first to last note. Solo's and improvisations are essential parts of this and form the building blocks that unfolds the plot

Karavika

Karavika(formerly Tiger Lilies) is a New York City based ensemble led by violinist Trina Basu and cellist Amali Premawardhana. As its members hold roots in places as diverse as India, Sri Lanka and North America, Karavika brings a fresh new perspective to the music of its varying cultural backgrounds. Drawing upon influences of nature, beauty, simple folk melodies and complex classical compositions, Karavika's music seeks to blend creative improvisations and arrangements with authentic traditions. They are joined by bassist Perry Wortman and Avi Shah on tabla. Since its creation, Karavika has been active in the music scene in New York City, and has frequented venues such as Drom world music venue, the lovely and intimate Caffe Vivaldi, Brooklyn’s House of Yes, and the Brooklyn Lyceum

The band features Bill Sims Jr., on vocals and guitar, his daughter Chaney Sims on vocals, and Junior Mack on vocals and on both electric and slide guitars. Machline/ Herrera/ Ceravolo

Since 2002 the trio has been nonstop on their presentations on the main jazz stages in Bs As (Notorious, Thelonious, Jazz & Pop, Jazz Voyeur, Club Lounge, El Gorriti, etc), Festivals (Festival Internacional Bs As. Jazz, La Plata Jazz Festival, Festival de Jazz de San Miguel, Festival de Jazz de Rio Cuarto, etc), in the rest of Argentina (Mar del Plata, Rosario, Chascomus, etc), etc. Until 2009 they had Pocho Lapouble on drums (who died that year) and from then on, the renowned drummer Luis Ceravolo (resident in Europe until then) replaced him on the trio, so the current group is: Norberto Machline, Alejandro Herrera and Luis Ceravolo
