Alessandro Bintzios

Roman double bass player of Greek origin, born in 1993. He started playing piano as a child. As a teenager he switched to electric bass and then undertook the study of double bass under the guidance of Stefano Nunzi, then Stefano Cantarano and Pietro Ciancaglini. In 2021 at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome he obtained a second degree in jazz double bass with honors and academic kiss. He has played with several representatives of the national jazz scene including: Enrico Pieranunzi, Rosario Giuliani, Daniele Tittarelli, Roberto Gatto, Fabio Zeppetella, Roberto Tarenzi, Gabriele Mirabassi, Pietro Tonolo, Ettore Fioravanti, Luca Mannutza, Marcello Rosa, Mario Corvini, Claudio Corvini, Mario Raja, Enrico Bracco, Carlo Conti, Cristiano Mastroianni and Marco Valeri. He is the double bass player of Mario Corvini’s New Talents Jazz Orchestra and Mario Raja’s Youth Jazz Orchestra. He has played in several national festivals including Il jazz italiano per le terre del sisma (L'Aquila 2018 and Amatrice 2021), Percorsi Jazz 2019 (Roma), Muntagninjazz (2019 and 2022 Sulmona), Summertime (2019 and 2022 Casa del Jazz), Si può fare jazz 2021 (Casa del Jazz), Barga Jazz 2019, Taranto Jazz 2020, Umbria Jazz (2019, 2021 and 2022) and JAZZMI 2022 (Milan).
