Yotam: Resonance

Sono tanti i musicisti israeliani che si sono trasferiti a New York per potere fare del jazz, in tutte le sue varianti di stile. Fra questi, c´è Yotam Silberstein, un chitarrista mainstream che a 21 anni venne nominato come miglior jazzista israeliano. Da qui sono arrivate offerte di lavoro all´estero, con la Fresh Sound/New Talent in Spagna, e da lí il trasferimento negli States, dove Silberstein ha partecipato al prestisgioso Monk Award per chitarristi arrivando fra i primi dieci.

La nuova incisione è stata prodotta da John Lee con una ritmica prestigiosa e Roy Hargrove come ospite in un paio di brani. Non si tratta di un lavoro rivoluzionario, come ci si puó immaginare, ma neppure di un esercizio di stile.

La chitarra di Silberstein rivela leggere influenze fusion, e sa suonare con feeling, con passione, coinvolgendo l´ascoltatore. Si fa scoltare volentieri, e lo stesso vale per la ritmica, che assicura l´equilibrio delle parti in tutti i brani, dall´inizio alla fine. Sarà per il lavoro del produttore, sarà per la maturità dei partecipanti o per il calore dell´incisione, qui c´è l´impressione che nulla sia stato lasciato al caso, senza che per questo ci siano momenti in cui il progetto suoni artificioso.

Un disco di modern mainstream che ha delle qualità per distinguersi fra le numerosi produzioni nel genere.
