Jesse Fischer is a musician who dreams out loud. Whether in performance or on record, the ideas that spring from his ensembles are joyful soundscapes for healing.

Brooklyn-based pianist to follow up successful Jazz Road tour of the Midwest in 2021 with three West Coast dates and a London headline debut, performing music from Resilience (2020) and Flipped II (2018).
Performance dates will coincide with the release of em>Resilience (Recharged), a newly remixed and reimagined version of the title track of Resilience, with other guest remixes to follow in 2022.
Critically-acclaimed Brooklyn-based pianist and composer Jesse Fischer is proud to announce upcoming tour dates in the U.S. West Coast and London. After a successful tour of the Midwest in Fall 2021 supported by a prestigious grant from the South Arts Jazz Road program, the three-time ASCAP Plus Award-winning composer is excited to return to the road with his signature blend of groove-based modern jazz, West African traditional sounds, and his own Jewish heritage. Fischer’s first stop with be The 1905 in Portland, OR, on March 23, followed by Mr. Tipple’s in San Francisco on March 24, and the Just Jazz concert series at Mr. Musichead Gallery in Los Angeles on March 25, co-presented by The Nonsemble. Finally on April 27, Fischer will make his headline U.K. debut at Ronnie Scott's in London, a date that was originally scheduled for 2020 but postponed twice due to Covid. Joining Fischer for the West Coast leg of the tour will be drummer Efajemue Enenajor Jr Etoroma, bassist Joshua Crumbly, and Jesse’s longtime associate Yacine Boulares on saxophones. In London, Fischer will perform trio with drummer Jason Brown and bassist Karl Rasheed-Abel.
Fischer’s upcoming single “Resilience (Recharged)”, reimagines the title track from his album Resilience with a chilled out, stripped down and electronic approach. Switching roles from pianist to remix producer, Fischer deconstructed the stems from the original recording session, trading acoustic piano and horns for analog synths and vintage 90’s drum machines. The result is a slightly woozy, slightly vibey take on the original mournful melody that would be right at home on playlists with Kiefer, Butcher Brown, Alfa Mist, or Anomalie. More remixes to follow later in 2022 from likeminded genre-bending producers/instrumentalists including Javier Santiago and Tomoki Sanders.
Featuring trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, vocalists Becca Stevens and Sarah Elizabeth Charles, and multi- instrumentalist Morgan Guerin, among many others, Fischer’s most recent album Resilience comprises nine original compositions exploring themes of personal and societal struggles. Released amid the pandemic’s terrifying first wave, the project presents an underlying narrative reflecting the conflicts of our time, ultimately resolving in an urgent call to peace and healing. Music is My Sanctuary calls Resilience “introspective, yet playful and free”, while Greg Bryant (WBGO/NPR Music) writes, “Jesse Fischer is a musician who dreams out loud. Whether in performance or on record, the ideas that spring from his ensembles are joyful soundscapes for healing.”
