Don Mock
As one of the founders of the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT), Don is well known among guitarists for his amazing technique and total command of the instrument. His improvising concepts have been documented in several instructional books including: Hot Licks," Fusion - Hot Lines," Artful Arpeggios," Ten," a three book series for Warner Bros./Alfred, Guitar Scale Secrets" and his three book Guitar Axis Masterclass" series. His recent works include Modal Mojo" which is an in-depth workshop and play-along series on modal playing and Mastering the Dominant Chord." He also has three instructional videos: The Blues from Rock to Jazz," Jazz Guitar Tips" and Jazz Guitar Rhythm Chops."
Steve Kim
Steve has performed with Larry Coryell, Alphonse Mouzon, Carter Jefferson, Dave Valentine, Jay Thomas, Scott Cossu, Brian Nova, classical guitarist Andre Feriante, and singer-songwriter Eric Fridrich. He has been commissioned to compose for the Southern Arts Council, the Seattle Arts Commission, choreographers Bill Evans, Clay Talefero and Jeff Bickford, and northwest filmmaker Eric Patton. In 1987 Steve served as a cultural ambassador representing the City of Seattle in Japan, and in 1989 was honored as a Centennial Artist during the Washington State Centennial Celebration. In 2007 he returned to Japan, touring with guitarist Brian Nova & Vibraphonist Kiyoko Ami. He has studied bass with Ray Brown, Gary Peacock and composition / improvisation with Charlie Banacos.
Jacques Willis
Drummer and vibraphonist Jacques Willis is an award winning jazz and fusion artist from Anchorage, Alaska. He has been described as exciting, endlessly creative, and destined for more than northern exposure" by Earshot Jazz,The News Tribune (Tacoma), and Keyboard Magazine respectively. After graduating with a music degree from Cornish College of The Arts in 2003, Willis has gone on to perform with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Wayne Horvitz, Hadley Caliman, Amy Rubin, Don Mock and Hans Deuber.
