K2B2 Records (k2b2.com) has just released a new CD—Buell Neidlinger Quartet Live at Ravenna Jazz '87 With Special Guest Steve Lacy (K2B2 3969). This live concert was the first time since 1959 that Neidlinger and Steve Lacy would play music together. They last played together at the NYC Cecil Taylor sessions for Candid Records.

Supported by tenor saxophonist Marty Krystall, pianist Brenton Banks and drummer Billy Osborne, this quintet burns through five Thelonious Monk compositions: Skippy; Epistrophy; Reflections; Little Rootie Tootie; and Criss Cross.
