Non è quindi particolarmente sorprendente che i tre si muovano con disinvoltura tra bagliori bruitiste, tecniche non convenzionali, inquietanti relazioni tra le ombre stesse del suono degli strumenti. Quello che poteva però diventare uno dei tanti - pur intriganti - dischi di improvvisazione, diventa però qualcos'altro.
Perché la musica prodotta in residenza viene poi inviata a Todd Carter, che non si limita a mixare e masterizzare il lavoro, ma rielabora in modo decisivo le improvvisazioni in una sorta di ulteriore composizione elettroacustica che è quella che si può alfine ascoltare in questo vinile.
Non avendo l'opportunità di ascoltare quelle che erano le improvvisazioni originali, ci si può solo confrontare con l'opera ridefinita da Carter, che fa emergere e riaffondare la musica in una sorta di tessuto sonoro fibrillante e vagamente ansiogeno, tenendone però le redini con particolare sapienza formale e alla fine un risultato - pur ostico - decisamente fascinoso.
Ecco perché questo non è solo uno dei tanti - pur intriganti - dischi di improvvisazione.
