Stan Getz: My Foolish Heart
This is not another "Desafinado" compilation. This is Getz cookin’ it up with a team of ‘big name’ players. Dave Holland’s bouncy upright runs sound electric smooth, DeJohnette’s drums are sharp (occasionally distractingly so) and Beirach’s long solo on "Untitled" is limited in range but varied enough to keep interest until Stan’s revved-up return. The title track brings it all down a bit, allowing the blessed Baltimore audience to digest the group’s expressive beauty before they click back into Chick for a "Fiesta" finale.
