Róisín Mulliez
Róisín Mulliez is a Galway-based jazz singer and choir director with a passion for two main art forms:
1. Jazz Music - particularly from the period of 1930s-1960s
2. Vocal Harmony - from smaller ensembles to larger choirs
She graduated from DCU’s BA in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance in 2023.
While she regularly gigs with other musicians in the Galway jazz scene, she has also taken part in larger creative projects such as Tapestry Vocal Ensemble, and most notably JazzTempo, funded by Galway Music Residency. Jazztempo was a yearly collaboration between the classical string ensemble RTE Contempo Quartet and a jazz quartet of esteemed jazz musicians from around the country - Róisín being the vocalist in this quartet. In their last iteration, they performed a sold-out concert in An Taibhdhearc as part of Galway International Arts Festival.
She has now established her own SATB jazz vocal quartet, who perform old classics from the likes of Manattan Transfer, Four Freshmen and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.
