Deja Bleu
Deja Bleu got together in about June of 2005. Several of us found that we had a common interest… a desire to play and perform music. There are five of us. Diane fronts us by handling the vocal end of things. Nancy fills in with flute and percussion. Steve adds a guitar and Dave lays down a solid foundation with his bass. Anne, our unofficial (but also undisputed) leader, handles the keyboard duties.
While we all share a common love of performing with Deja Bleu, we all come from different musical backgrounds. Some come from classical and church backgrounds, others from 60’s and 70’s rock bands. Some of us stress popular music, while others favor jazz or country. Genre-wise we’re all over the map… and we love it. It was immediately apparent to us that our diversity was not a problem, but rather an opportunity. We can customize our play list to accommodate almost any situation. And beyond that, it’s given each of us the chance to explore musical areas we probably would never have imagined on our own. It’s often been said that there are two kinds of music, Country and Western, or good music and bad, but we have our own perspective. There are two kinds of music, that which you enjoy and that which you don’t. Hopefully our eclectic approach will offer much for your musical enjoyment.
Deja Bleu plays weddings, receptions, dances and dinners. We’ve done private parties and club events. We’ve played from Tulsa to Bartlesville. We were around to hear (first-hand) the music of the 60’s and 70’s. Some of us got hooked on the old jazz standards of our folk’s generation (the 30’s through the 50’s). Some of us tended more toward rock and roll, some toward country. And all of us like to listen to the new songs being performed every day. There are so many new songs, new genres and new crossovers.
Whatever your musical needs… Deja Bleu would like to be your solution.
